I don't think you understand the dilemma I'm outlining with these questions.
What do I do with it?
What do I do with it?
in a perfect world we would all be piles of sand with no ability to form coherent bodies of body

According to wikipedia, it's currently 795 episodes spanning 18 seasons, with 16 (soon to be 17) movies.
Based on some rough calculation (excluding commercial times as well), that's around 20,700 minutes of video, which translates to ~345 hours and would take over 14 days to watch nonstop. 20 days to watch it if you allow 8 hour breaks each day for sleep. We can only normally watch 4 episodes a week when she has school (and when I used to have school) since Friday and Saturday nights were the only nights we had where we could both stay up (she has to catch the train at like 5 AM, so every other night is a no-go), but during the summers we do MWF + the weekends. We kinda want watching them to be enjoyable, so we pace ourselves so that we don't burn out.
Considering that we stopped watching Pokemon to watch Avatar: The Last Air Bender (NOT the movie, the series, movie was horrible) some 70+ episodes of Zoids: Chaotic Century, and MLP, I think we've made a nice dent in our Pokemon watching quest @MaJoR - Did you count Pokemon Chronicles? It's basically 25 or so episodes of Pokemon, but with side characters (everybody but Ash and co.) Fun fact for more accurate calculations, each episode is closer to the 21:45 mark on average (yes, commercials make up a lot of the half-hour time slot :/ ) and I can think of at least 4 episodes so far (up to the one I'm on) that were deleted for foreign audiences (bikini contest one, the one where Ash catches about 30 Taurus, the Porygon seizure one, and some ice cave one, there are probably more). 05-27-2014, 12:11 AM

Holy cow... (Or should I say miltank?) And I thought the Simpsons had a lot. Although in terms of time it's not really too much. People spend more than that doing equally useless (in the long term) stuff. Heck, I've probably watched over 400 hours of various LPs myself. XD Shonumi Wrote:We kinda want watching them to be enjoyable, I've always wondered what exactly do people find enjoyable about it. Personally I've only watched one episode or so, to see what it was like, and didn't find it too engaging... Not being a hater, just wondering: what makes you watch it?
21:45? Hmm, I used a base 24 guesstimate. And I'll add in the chronicles. Also, I'm using the international count, not the Japanese count.
A flat 22 minutes for each episode, plus the 25 chronicles episodes, plus the movies (guesstimate of 100 minutes times 17 movies) puts it at 19,740 minutes. That's 329 hours and 13.7 days. So with 8 hour breaks for sleep, you could probably squeeze that into a 19 day marathon.
