Anti-Ultimate Wrote:No, Nintendo will keep pushing out their more successful things, the WiiU needs them. I know Metroid Prime/Starfox/Donkey Kong Games used to be system sellers, but they aren't now and totally not for the WiiU, Starfox games on the 3DS are mostly remakes, e.g. Starfox 64 3D.
That doesn't make any sense. Of course Star Fox isn't going to be a system seller, because Nintendo isn't making any new games for the franchise. Star Fox (the original SNES title) keeps getting remade (SF64, SF643D), Star Fox 2 was never released. Only Assault and Command have pushed the SF games farther than that. Adventures is a SF game, but not in the sense of the 3D space shooter genre. A lot of fans only consider there really being 3 "true" SF games (SF and its remakes, Assault, and Command). That's basically screaming for this IP to be better utilized.
Nintendo is relying on just about everything but Metroid Prime and Star Fox (DK being the exception), and it's not working for them financially. My friends and co-workers keep discussing the matter, and we keep coming to the conclusion that 1st party support is going to pull the Wii U along through this generation (maybe the next Xeno game will sell big, fingers crossed). Star Fox and Metroid games are some of their best reoccurring IPs. At a time when the Wii U is having a serious game drought, it needs all the games it can get. It needs heavy sellers like Pokemon as much as it does Star Fox. The Wii U is a desert, even for a Nintendo fan such as myself (NSMB U is been there done that, SM3DW looks interesting but not worth buying an entire console for, don't like DK games that much... so there's nothing for me). It's this lack of 1st party games (or games at all) that still has kept me from buying a Wii U (only until Smash Bros comes out though).
Also, please explain why these titles are not for the Wii U.
