Well according to reports and digging it looks like the tower closes to me will be upgraded to LTE. I won't get my hopes up but I will be checking coverage every so often and maybe borrow a Sprint LTE device from someone to test. With my 3G at most I was able to get 1.5 Mbps downstream and 0.45 Mbps upstream which is typical 3G speeds. 01-31-2014, 11:49 PM

You're most likely using some crap modem they gave you or a cheap HSPA 8mbit Modem. If you use a DC-HSPA+ compatible one, I'm pretty sure it will be faster 01-31-2014, 11:55 PM
I'm also on a 3G HSPA connection, max down is 7.2mbps and up is 3.5, maybe i should attempt some online gaming with it cause i always assumed it crap, although my ping will probably be high.

My 4g has a slightly faster upload (1Mb), but slower (like half) download than my cable, I want fiber >:( (which we do get here, but it is slower than cable >.>) 02-01-2014, 03:52 AM

Well according to a reseller that stated they will be offering "unlimited" LTE service in my area soon, I can buy my own device as long as it's S-Branded otherwise I buy the device from them.
Quote:I noticed that you said that you can't get any LTE at your home in Port Byron, actually our LTE network is in your area, just not officially rolled out. Quote:Our services are fully unlimited (no caps or overages) and are priced at $100 per month. Details are available on our website: www.tbbroadband.us We do have a coverage locator on our website but it updates as our partners are updating as well. We generally will use Sensorly to pull a complete area of 4G services that are NOT official as of yet. We do use the "yellow" Network or better known as S-Network. According to their website these are the details for their "unlimited" plan with no other plan listed.. For $100 /mo I could get.. Unlimited data although there is probably a hidden cap in there somewhere. They claim no overages, caps or throttling on data but probably will shut off for excessive usage. Up to.. 50Mbps downstream. 30Mbps upstream. $48 activation fee. 1 year contract with $150 ETF. The upside and advantage to me the tower is very close to me and with a decent antenna I'd probably get really low pings and barely any latency. |
