Chillers are extremely expensive, big, heavy, loud, and use huge amounts of electricity. They are even less practical. As far as coolants go nothing beats good ole distilled water.

There is no reason for anyone who is not overclocking to invest in water cooling.

"Hmm... it works very well but there's just this slight bug... wonder if I can fix it"

Not quite the same but I experienced something similar back when I used to make flash games. I could never properly play them. I would start, immediately notice some flaw or something that could be improved and go right back to working. After awhile actually running the software became extremely unenjoyable for this reason. Actually come to think of it this happens with any software I work on or even just use. It can get so bad that I lose sleep over it or never finish something because the implementation is never good enough. I imagine this is what it's like for AAA game devs but with a much larger array of games. Poor guys.
With dolphin the same thing happens although not quite on the same scale as with you. Every time I try to play a new game I notice some flaw and immediately start testing different revisions and settings to try and fix it. It makes it very hard to actually play these games and enjoy them. I've probably spent 10x-25x as much time testing games as I have actually playing them, and I don't even touch the source code. I can't even imagine how bad it must be for you guys who actually do the programming.
Xtreme2damax Wrote:Right now for my main system this is what I will be purchasing:
Decent LGA1150 motherboard
Core i7 (Haswell)
Either an extra 2GB module of DDR3 ram or a brand new 2 x 4GB kit.
Single GTX 780.
Drop the core i7 down to an i5 and make sure to get a K edition. Get a Z87 motherboard with a good air cooler. Get a 2GB module instead of a new kit. Drop the GTX 780 down to a a GTX 760 and use the money you saved next year to replace it with a maxwell card.

That is amazing. I truly believed that this would never be fixed. People have been complaining about it constantly ever since before I found this place 4 years ago. And in that time everyone who looked at it made no discernible progress towards fixing it.
Didn't you say you were "done with dolphin" awhile back ?

Sorry to hear that.

As some of you know AMD recently announced freesync. Their free alternative to nvidia's gsync. According to nvidia it's unlikely that they'll ever be able to make it work with desktop displays: http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/nvidia_...esync.html
