The only thing that I'm looking forward to in August is the DVD release of the 3rd season of The Walking Dead. From the first episode on season 1 I was literally hooked and I love every minute of it. I know the 3rd season have been on TV but I haven't watched it, can't wait till it comes. The Walking Dead reminds me a little of Stephen King's The Stand but without the zombies, a great movie that's 6 hours long in duration. Other then that, August...not that exciting. 07-16-2013, 02:14 AM
Have to wait until October for Season 4 to come out though This is why I need time travel (in a form that I can control, not the natural flow of time). Anyway, I like the show a lot too. Didn't know it was based on a comic book series until recently, but I don't really want to spoil anything by reading ahead, so I might just look at the older issues sometime. Can't wait to see what happens next.
If nothing's happening for you in August, make something happen. Get a project or something. Set yourself a golf-based goal and practice towards it. Real-life jobs can be fun, but as they say, "work to live, don't live to work." If there isn't anything exciting going on, make something exciting
I have a question...
Let's say that I'm in the NFL. I'm about to retire after a Hall of Fame-worthy career. I am 36. Over the years of playing I have $150,000,000. I think that's enough to retire with . So I retire. Now I know most if not all of you are adults, so you can help. Would it be possible to own a house that costs $1,000,000, and in the extremely large basement I do work to make it into mainly one big room down there, the size of a few gymnasiums, and then put book sheles everywhere and display cases, and then collect only one version (North American) of every Nintendo game new and 10 of every system new? Also PS2 possibly. Remember this would contain all handhelds and consoles, from Game and Watch to Wii U. Also possibly a butler, yardwork service (just to mow the lawn and pull weeds and trim bushes etc. nothing too extreme), and a collection of DVD/Blu Rays/VCR not at all as large but much larger than the average. Plus a small vacation house in Florida, nothing that extreme really, pretty basic. Also I would have a small collection of cars, probably no more than $1,000,000 invested in the collection. I would be living in either Rural or Suberban New York if that helps with taxes. So basically, with that much money could I live like this and never have to work again? If not, what could I/ could not do? PC Specs

As for golf based goals, well we have to see what happens next as there's plenty of time left for this season. Official HCP is one goal but that's only a good round away. But I hope to get a BIRDIE real soon, the PAR I got was an awesome feeling. 07-16-2013, 03:18 AM
Perhaps money talk forums would be a better place for this sort of thing. d:

@noah - About the game collection (can't speak about property taxes or real estate values), I don't think you'd have to spend that much when we're talking about a million dollar budget. I mean, when byuu sold his complete SNES collection, it was only $22,900.00 on eBay; that's the price of a decent, new car in the US, and a drop in the bucket when you have a million dollars to spend. The Angry Video Game Nerd has amassed a very thorough collection of NES games (the most complete collection afaict) and I doubt he's actually spent a fortune on that.
The trick is, around the time of the DS and Wii, there was an explosion of shovel-ware games. Just look at all the threads LordVador made in Game Discussion. Plus, you'd have to account for downloadable games. All those little, games would add up. Still, a million dollars sounds like overkill. Now, if we were talking 1st edition, mint condition Pokemon cards... For clarification when you say "Nintendo game" do you mean first-party games? Or just games made for Nintendo systems. That would significantly reduce the costs of course. 07-16-2013, 04:06 AM

Well all games for all Nintendo systems, but no downloadable games. I would be fine with just one version of every game. So if I have players choice I don't need to buy the game again. As long as I have a decent copy of the game.
Edit - Then where should I live? Double Edit - When you say $1 Million Shonumi, you realize I would put at least $50 Million towards this if I had $150 Million. The rest would be for average things. PC Specs
