Epics used to be poems that described the origins of a nation or people. They were tales that had large scales of greatness (incredible deeds against impossible odds done by inspiring mythic heroes). Pre-Internet speak, saying something was epic essentially compared it to some of the colossal feats or events associated this poetry. Now it's been regulated to a cheap synonym for "awesome" or "cool" or whatever kids these days think expresses something neat. </englishmajor>

In french "Epic" (written "Epique") is often used for something that was really difficult to do. "Ce fut épique!" meaning "it wasn't easy (but we finally did it)!".
I'm talking about colloquial language of course

Well, i finally got down to cleaning my ps3 console, entirely this time, as expected components such as the fan that were buried deep inside were no longer recognizable to the human eye, i managed to clean the dust off all the components except the motherboard.
Sony seemed to think it'd be a great idea to use 5 different screw sizes and i unfortunately only have 3 screw drivers, i was able to clean 1/5th of the MB that wasn't tied down by a screw, i just hope that was enough. Patiently waiting for power

I agree with you on the other two but "Wait, what?" just means "What?". As in "What do you mean by that?". And it's hardly overused by most people. As far as overused and annoying words people use in real life go there is "like" and "thing". People who use these filler words constantly annoy me to no end. @NV - I've seen that MintBox and I was thinking about it. I want to see some reviews on it (specifically about heat dissipation) first though. I don't imagine it will be a problem with its Haswell CPU, but you can never be too sure. Additionally, I need to sort out a minor financial issue before I make any purchase of that size. I'd rather run Mint than Ubuntu, given the choice. Wonder if it has real mints inside...

My $0.02 on "Wait, what?":
When I see this, I take it that the person writing it needed a couple of seconds to re-read what they'd just read before asking 'what?'. For example, they'd gone into skim-read mode, and needed to double check they'd read properly. It's kind of a relic from in real life when you're partially asleep, and you find out that, for example, some girl you know apparently snogged the guy that everybody (as in literally everybody) dislikes, even though she'd be the last person anybody would expect to snog anyone, and you need a few seconds to try and work out if the subject has been changed to two different people without you noticing. Hence, I used it on Friday for that exact purpose. On the internet, however, it isn't really necessary. Also, when's someone either going to tell me to buy or not buy a SSD? The one NV recommended to someone earlier in another thread is £75, but I'm not sure if I should buy it. If I don't get it now, I won't get one until I next rebuild from scratch, as I doubt I'll need to reinstall Windows again. This is a decision that I can convince another person of in either direction, and when I have a mental self-debate I get nowhere. Also, if I do get one, what will I be likely to put on it? Most of the things I have that feel slow to load are games, and they're huge and therefore not an ideal SSD candidate.
