Someone on this forum broke Windows compilation on the Gekko project with their recent SDL commits.

Works just fine on Linux and CMake. It's probably some stupid MSVC thing (or user error). If you wanna be helpful be post the errors you get :p I don't have a Windows machine setup to compile Gekko just yet though.

I figured I'd just throw that out there. If you get around to compiling on Windows, fine. If not, I don't think anyone is going to lose any sleep over this right now.

Says the guy who is not doing Gekko development EDIT: It might be something to do with MSVC not using SDL 2.0, or the current SDL 2.0 in externals not being up-to-date enough. CMake, iirc, looks for the highest version of SDL available and uses that (or I could be making that part up).
I saw a YouTube video that claimed it showed how to "fix" Windows 8. So I watched it and it said to get Start8. So I set it up and had a start button, and lost access to the Start Screen. About an hour after I set it up, I deleted it. I just missed the functionality of the metro Start Screen. I recommend everyone who is using an older version of Windows upgrades to 8, even on non-touchscreen devices. It's the same and better, and once you get used to it (only took me 10 minutes ) you will forget you ever had a start button. Bravo to Microsoft for creating the best Windows yet.
