I'm diabetic, so get a free flu jab, but whenever I get a cold, I seem to suffer about as much from it as people I know do from flu. I'm not sure if this is because I just get particularly ill when I get ill, or because everyone I know calls a bad cold flu. Either way, I've had so many coughing fits that my windpipe hurts to the point that I have to breath really shallowly. This then means that I can't spend an excessive amount of time doing anything, as I either end up out of breath, or breathing normally, which quickly causes a coughing fit.

I almost never get sick, unless I spend a whole day out in the snow, running around, eating dirt and walking through rivers (though not every time I do those things). And when I am sick, I always get better in a matter of hours, 1 day max. I guess this is because I grew up on the countryside (and still live there for the most part) and had contact with all kinds of bacteria and viruses when I was young. [at least that's what I want to believe, so I can tell people they shouldn't be such pussies]

It likely has more to do with the strength of your immune system. I'm guess you're quite healthy and live a healthy lifestyle. It could also be the fact that because you live in the countryside you aren't in constant contact with areas that a large number of people pass through on a daily basis. I form this theory based on the fact that as both the son of a microbiologist and someone who regularly spends time in both the countryside and urban areas I still get sick all the time and for long periods of time despite my constant exposure to bacteria and viruses from a young age. My parents were smart enough to know that disinfecting the house has negative long term effects on young children due to lack of exposure to microbes. So that's definitely not the reason.

Picked up a ssd and Bioshock Infinte today.
Anyone have an idea why the game laggs when I look at some things (But doesn't on other things)? Also, the Vsync Infinite uses seems to have problems, with Vsync off this doesn't happen but there is tearing everywhere. I think this may also be related to the HDD slowness, would running the game off the SSD help? 03-31-2013, 09:31 AM
