@NV - I had just woken up, was typing on my iPod, was too early to grammar :p
Besides, what's the point of knowing the rules if you can't break'em?

That's the main reason people learn rule sets. Also it makes you feel a smug sense of superiority that makes everything so much more enjoyable. And then there is that whole "it's the right thing to do" argument but I think reason #2 is so much better don't you .

Spelling errors, misused commas, commas that need to be used, bad punctuation, etc. That's kind of the "light" stuff that can be fixed with simple editing. What chiefly upsets me is bad content: poor argumentation, poor presentation of an idea, inadequate or conversely "high-brow" word choice/diction, etc. Bad grammar I can deal with, but certain stylistic features irk me if they're not properly done. If you use things overwrought tautology, shoddy analogies, or unclear details and evidence, then I will find you... 03-10-2013, 12:51 PM

Those AP and Chicago Style fools can keep going at it for all I care. They're both wrong. Seriously, the one time I wrote a paper using the Chicago Style manual, I got a B.
