EDIT:
The GTX 670 4GB would have been a terrible buy, I realize that after doing some research. I'm staying in AMD's ship in terms of GPU for a little while longer and decided to buy the XFX HD7950 black edition 3GB dirt cheap for around $340. I think I'm gonna be satisfied with that upgrade. At least I know what I'm getting for that kind of money. 01-15-2013, 01:16 AM

That could make performance worse in some cases, but this is just what I have heard and read in different forums and I for sure ain't taking any chances. Of all people I asked none recommended it to me. The 7950 card have a 384-bit GDDR5 memory interface which is better suited for the 3GB VRAM it have and of course I saved over $100 so that's good too. I'm not an expert or anything but when people says it's bad, it's usually 99.99% correct. @ NaturalViolence Please say I made a wise choice here, you of all experts know this best. 01-15-2013, 03:49 AM

That makes no sense. Why is it "better suited"? Does anyone really give a shit how wide or narrow the bus is as long as it performs similarly? Why is a 256 bit wide bus "bad for a card with 4GB of vram"? Memory capacity and memory bandwidth are two totally separate properties of a card with completely different areas of impact. Memory bandwidth is a function of data transfer rates and bus width. Also here is a benchmark comparison if you were curious: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/550?vs=598 The GTX 670 is the faster of the two cards on average by a small to moderate margin depending on the game. As you would expect considering that it's $100 more expensive and designed to compete with the 7970 not the 7950. The memory bandwidth is 25% higher on the 7950 for anyone who is curious. But nvidia's chips have a better cache subsystem and require less memory bandwidth so it balances out fairly well. Quote:Problem with SCD? Or just any Sonic fansite in general? Well like I said, I'm no expert and this is what I have heard and read.
But anyway, it's better then the 6950 at least and it looks good too and I saved money for something else. 01-16-2013, 05:46 AM
Admin89 is going to pass me by in posts soon, I'm not pleased.

I guess you have noticed, that I'm not very active at the moment. Yeah, it's a hard time for me (lot of work to do in school etc.)
