Anyone else that got Paper Mario Sticker Star today? (Or yesterday) What's your thoughts this far? Me, I love it!
A new Paper Mario game is always a warm cozy game.

I'll suggest an explanation to the "confusing" post of giorgakis: when he arrived on the forum he didn't see DefenderX. Last time he came DefenderX had temporarily gone. He must have supposed DefenderX had never come back. Hence his astonishment

If I hadn't return, DefenderX may as well been gone today too. I know he got mad at his Dolphin build thread and then left. 12-09-2012, 03:49 AM
I never quite worked out what was wrong with it. Was it something along the lines of he was compiling old builds, but according to what he could see they were new builds?

I'm seeing double again, maybe I should just go back playing Paper Mario Sticker Star again.
Goodnight my humble fans! 12-09-2012, 12:08 PM
No offense but they're worthless. Valve is giving them out like free candy on Halloween. I submitted the worst application in the history of applications and still got an invite 2 days later.

Don't even get me started on this game (too late). It's a piss-poor excuse for an RPG to be sure, and a below average action game. I bought it hoping for an RPG, so naturally I'm disappointed in it. Truth be told, I never finished Super Paper Mario because it was so far away from what the first two games were. I think I'll be shelving this game similarly. So many things about this game are pointless. The story, for example, is paper-thin, pun intended. Bowser touches some sticker comet, Mario finds royal stickers, and that's about the extent of it. It doesn't serve as your driving force for getting to an end of the level; it just sort of glues together the disparate worlds Mario has to visit. Compared to the other Paper Mario games, it feels like each level is like those from Mario's platforming games, i.e. there's no real reason he's there, just passing through a scene or two to get to the goal. Stickers, and by extension fighting, are pointless. Stickers are all over the place, no need to buy them; you can even farm the kind you like. No need for money. You can more or less avoid every enemy you encounter; you only really need to beat bosses and scripted fights. There's little point in fighting common enemies since 1) you don't get any experience, no leveling up, and 2) you can make money by selling stickers off the ground. But like I said, money's only used for buying stickers, which you find on ground for free... The "puzzles" would entertain a 6 year old for all of 30 seconds before they solve them. The humor in this game gave me some smiles, but was it really so hard for Nintendo to hit up the writers for the Mario and Luigi games for some true laughs? This is not like the Paper Mario games I remember; it sucks as an RPG and only has middling potential as a game at all. Since SPM they keep subtracting the elements that really count in a Paper Mario game; I hope they stop. So yeah, this game isn't worth what I paid for. Now the poster I got from reserving my game at GameStop, that was worth it. I like swag, what can I say? Too bad I had to buy this game along with it... |
