In my AS Level Computing class (which I'm 5 days into) the teacher is already double checking how things work with me. You too could hold the position of teacher of teacher.

Is it just me or did half of this forums active members suddenly start college this semester for some reason?
Quote:Tomorrow, we have some kind of lesson about computer hardware and something. Welcome to college (I assume you're new since you posted that). Where the faculty is pretty much forced to assume that you're borderline retarded (due to curriculum requirements) until you endure at least 2 years of this bullshit (once you get into upper level classes things get a lot better and you start actually learning things). LordVador Wrote:Behave as if you were a real noob and ask stupid questions Don't do that. All you'll do is annoy everyone else. Everyone hates that kid who won't stop asking questions. Starscream Wrote:Nah. Show the teacher how to do it properly. Don't do that either. And for the love of god don't correct the professor unless your grade depends on it, even if they're wrong. You'll be labeled a know it all by both the faculty and the students (I know this from personal experience). Just shut your mouth and pretend the professor is an infallible god......no matter how painful and difficult it becomes. I was forced to take a microsoft access class this semester for some unknown reason (it's a course requirement for my degree program but I have no idea why) as well as a project management class (I can kind of see how that would be applicable). Both are filled with retards that remind me of the days when I was taking general education classes. So far I haven't said a word in either class but continuing that has become torture since nobody seems to know what they're doing. I can't wait to get back to programming and engineering classes where the professor and students can have engaging intellectual discussions and do labs and lectures that are useful, instead of the professor reading powerpoint presentation while the students stare blankly at the front of the classroom. The high number of hot girls in my project management class tells me it's a requirement for several majors, not just mine (in my experience engineering and programming classes tend to be either entirely male or almost entirely male). Gah.....now I'm just ranting because I had a bad day. Quote:In my AS Level Computing class (which I'm 5 days into) the teacher is already double checking how things work with me. Technically, it's a teacher, not a professor, as it isn't university. AS level is what we do in the UK from age 16-17, then A2 aged 17-18. This is called 6th form college, and isn't the same as college in America. If you talk about college in the UK, people will assume you mean 6th form college, and not university, because we call universities universities, not colleges Anyway, the getting away with it, and it being encouraged is probably because the way I do it is funny. I'd give an example to show this, but can't think of one right now.

Can I ask, what would you recommend doing if my GPU hits 99°C under load? It keeps downclocking itself when it gets high, so I'm not getting its full power. I don't want to invalidate the warranty (which still has 4.5 years left) by doing something XFX wouldn't like, but at the same time want the full power of my card.

I'd get a good case with lots of little holes, or make holes in your existing case. Wait until winter then play with the window open (not while it's snowing). Way cheaper than buying a real cooler.
