I will be uploading a new build later on, I'll be busy for a while during the day which is why I can't upload any builds until later. Not only that, my internet connection wants to give me hell uploading files during the day and I'm dealing with unfair throttling until after 1 AM in the morning. Yeah satellite internet sucks, but it's somewhat better than dial up.

REQUEST: Can you compile future SVNs with SSE4a? I know SSE4a is AMD only, BUT alot of people are using the new AMD CPUs and SSE 4.1 and 4.2 are INTEL only aswell.
What a shame - the SSE3 build doesn't work on AMD processors. All modern AMD processors *DO* support this instruction set.
(I'm talking about the vanilla SSE3 build, not the SSSE3[Intel-only Instruction set] one) And +1 for a SSE4a build for AMD CPUs, but ICC doesn't even detect/use this, you'll have to use another compiler. 08-02-2010, 03:44 PM

I live out in the boonies, satellite internet is my only way to a get semi-highspeed internet connection, except it comes with ridiculously low daily caps. I'm throttled the entire day, and am only able to upload files that exceed a MB at 1 AM in the morning else my uploads keep failing. The SSE3 build likely isn't working because these builds are for Intel processors only except for the regular non-optimized build. I might also compile optimized builds that work with AMD, but I will likely wait until I have access to a better internet connection and have more time before I do that.
For right now I am taking a break from uploading new builds. I might upload a new builds once in a while, likely whenever there is a significant change that makes it worth my time to to upload a new build. 08-03-2010, 05:04 AM
I've tried sse3 and regular x86 and i get this problem ONLY with this reversion.

I've uploaded the normal x86 and x64 builds for revision 6075, I've also included the x86 and x64 SSE4.1 optimized builds for Intel processors. This revision is the same as revision 6080 except without the JIT changes the broke the emulator in r6076 and 6077, these builds include the fixes from r6078.
You might wonder why I did this, but I didn't want to upload a broken build and wanted to include the fixes from r6078, r6080 wasn't committed yet at the time I started uploading these builds. I will include SSE3, SSSE3 builds that are optimized for Intel processors later, I will also try to include optimized builds for other processors such as AMD later as well. 08-10-2010, 12:19 PM
Keep up the good work. The SSE3 optimized version might be my first build when I make my glorious return to dolphin next week (I'm setting my desktop back up, in case you don't know I've been without dolphin since 5312, just over 3 months).

Hi there, I just tried your build and so far so good. Thanks for the nice improvements! It's somehow faster than the ones I used before! Since the normal Plugin_Wiimote.dll is still having trouble, I just used the New Wiimote plugin that your build has. It took some time configuring it to be just like the one I am used to, but I'm glad I was able to figure things out eventually lol! Anyway, I'm not sure where to point out things regarding your build, so I'll take a guess and just put it here. Maybe these things will help a bit or give you ideas lol... My System: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6GHz (oced to 2.9GHz) 2 Gigs RAM ATI Radeon 2600XT 256MB Windows XP SP3 Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable DirectX9 June/August 2010 Version Games That Have Problems: 1. Godzilla Unleashed NTSC Problem: Can't "connect" emulated wii controls. - tried both Direct3D9 and OpenGL plugins, same result. - removed GameCube controller and set Port 1 to "Nothing", same result. * Somewhat playable on Dolphin 2.0, except that the framerate is too slow. Picture: 2. Calling NTSC Problem: Walls won't load properly, they are see-through with some weird fuzzy wave lines. - tried both Direct3D9 and OpenGL plugins, same result. * This works perfectly on Dolphin 2.0. Picture: 3. Dead Rising NTSC Problem: Can't load a "level". - tried with a saved game, was able to load where I was previously. Upon exiting the area, the game just stopped and never loaded the next place. - when this happens, the frame rate reads "0". * This works perfectly on svn 5186. Games That Work Great: 1. Disaster: Day of Crisis NTSC - only minor graphical problems when using Direct3D9 and OpenGL plugin. - almost everything runs smoothly. Picture: 2. Dragonball Return of King Piccolo NTSC - flickering screen easily fixed by putting a check mark on "Enable XFB" or "Use XFB" depending on the plugin you are using. - runs perfectly smooth. 3. Juon The Grudge NTSC - runs perfectly. - if you are new to this game, you really walk slow, the controls are horrid. It's really how the game was made, it's not a bug. 4. Tatsuno VS Capcom NTSC - runs ok. - some graphical "stuttering" every now and then, especially when characters use super special moves. 5. Tenchu Stealth Assassins NTSC - runs ok, some slowdown in some areas. 6. Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles NTSC - runs ok, some "stuttering" in some areas. 7. Victorious Boxers Revolution NTSC - runs perfectly. - There is a problem with the "shaders" I believe when you are using Direct3D9. The shadows on characters will be TOO black. - The problem is easily remedied by using OpenGL plugin, except that the gameplay will be a little slower than if you use the Direct3D9 plugin. 8. Naruto Ryujinki NTSC - runs ok. - some slowdown in certain areas. Well those are the games I was able to test, good luck and have fun |
