Hey, I have been enjoying the game but I noticed that when the game saves, it doesn't seem to actually save because I completed all 3 cups in mario kart (saves after each one and goes back to main menu like it should) but afterwards, the last cup (special cup) doesn't unlock. I think this is because the game isn't saving?
Everytime it saves, it saves the files to "MemoryCardA.USA.raw" in my downloads folder. It is a raw file, but when I go to click on it, I don't have the program to open it, so I'm wondering is there a way to get the game to actually save? Do I have to open the .raw file somehow to get my saves and if so, how do I do that? 06-26-2012, 08:36 AM
That file belongs in your Dolphin directory, user/GC folder.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1 CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked) GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1) RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333
Sorry, what do you mean by in the dolphin directory? Are you talking about the folder? I made a new folder in my dolphin folder of my downloads section for mario kart and moved the game and memory raw file there and when I start the game up now it says "The Memory Card in Slot A is corrupted and needs to be formatted. Would you like to format the memory card now?" I'm not sure if that would make a difference or not?
If I'm incorrect about what the directory is, could you please let me know what that is/how to make it, I'm not very well acquainted yet. Thanks! 06-26-2012, 08:52 AM

Everything depends on knowing that it's where it needs to be. And people wonder why they have issues.

ok, so if I'm understanding right, if everything is in the main dolphin folder (mine says: dolphin 3.0 win64) then the game should save from now on?
Ok, I think that fixed it because I exited and re-entered the game and it seems to save my records. Thanks, I kind of feel dumb not figuring that out myself! 06-26-2012, 12:02 PM
Fwiw, the emulated memory card file doesn't need to be in the defualt location Dolphin puts it in. You're free to change this, as long as Dolphin knows where to look. When you click the Config button and go to the Gamecube tab, you should be able to select the file Dolphin will use for Memory Card Slot A and B.
