Announcement from GhostlyDark:
Quote:Another major update for Patcher64+ Tool: v23.0.0 is out now! The Scene Editor has been improved and expanded upon, which goes hand in hand with a close to vanilla, yet totally new ROM hack, together with a bunch of new Redux features. That's it from me. Until v24.0.0!
The first new real update for the Patcher64+ Tool in 2024. The rundown:
Added Permanent Owl Saves & Additional Save Statues options Added new HUD layout and fixed issues for OoT Redux Added new OoT & MM options Added new MM options by Euler Added new debugging options Changed several byte options into byte scene options for OoT & MM Updated Smash Remix to v1.5.0 Fixed several options for OoT & MM Fixed issue with Restore Text for OoT Thanks to Euler for providing us with so many new options for MM. A real Chad among chads. So MM is a bit more on par with OoT now. Speaking about MM, because I felt inspired by the broken garbage that's MM3D, I decided to port over it's more casual addition: Extra Owl Statues for saving only and Owl Save Slots which are no longer erased upon opening your file slot (you can erase them instead by playing the Song of Time). The extra Owl Statues can't be warped too and are found within each of the four dungeons, plus one in the Pirate's Fortress and Ikana Graveyard. Word of warning: Make sure to backup your save date before trying either save statue feature out. I'm not held responsible if your save data goes poof. In case it would. Technically I already Permanent Save Statues before already, but I improved upon them. So they're a bit more functional and less broken, with some other nice tweaks to them. A few stuff got lost from resetting upon playing the Song of Time, such as the Jynx timer. Haven't tested it, but you probably are still Jynxed after playing the Song of Time. Soooo, it should hopefully run out. Had to make room for the new code. That, and a bunch of other smaller options and stuff. Such as making the Skull Kid Ocarina minigame easier in OoT, HP Recovery Values in MM, missing enemy HP values in MM, properly restoring an out-of-bounds grotto in MM, some scene editor fixes, some GUI/code optimizing, debugging stuff and so on. Have fun! 03-13-2024, 04:34 AM
The next update for Patcher64+ Tool is here! It's the big overhaul for Majora's Mask Redux.
- While I think it's mostly optimized, a few further changes will be added later down the line, but first the highlights: - New ported options from MM Randomizer - Time Control display in the pause screen to advance time per hour - Added alternative D-Pad actions when holding L - New alternate D-Pad display/layout when holding L - Dual D-Pad returns with L + R, just like in OoT - Map any item / mask to the D-Pad (except bottles) - Remapped several actions - Remapped pause screen actions - Ammo values for D-Pad and B buttons - Equipped Mask status on D-Pad (like in OoT, shows bigger icon) Yup. That's right. The D-Pad is bigger, stronger and better than it has ever been. So powerful in fact it puts poor OoT Redux to shame, forcing me to revisit it in v23.4.0 to port it over there as well. It's the first time that the MM Redux is actually ahead of what the OoT Redux is capable of. So spoiler alert, v23.4.0 will be the overhaul for OoT Redux. There's still some things I like to perfect in the future: - Being able to hold D-Pad buttons so you can hold and aim (ex. draw arrow or prepare hookshot) instead of immediately using it - Bottles on D-Pad - Arrow Toggle isn't supported on the D-Pad yet, so that might be worth too in the future Several issues have been fixes too, making for a fairer gameplay: - Masks given to the Moon Children aren't usable on the D-Pad anymore until you get them back - The stolen Great Fairy's Sword by the Takkuri won't be accessible through the D-Pad or B Button and will be put away - Items won't be put away if they're not on a C button, which is required for D-Pad support and enabled with D-Pad support - Instant Elegy checks for any of the 12 scenes it's allowed to use directly from the ROM, so Master Quest is supported And some other minor fixes It's just Redux for Majora's Mask this update. Exciting if you love MM, otherwise... Uhh... 04-29-2024, 08:56 PM
Time for the follow-up of March's MM Redux v23.3.0 update, this time covering OoT Redux. It's bigger, better and stronger than ever. Patcher64+ Tool version 23.4.0 has now released.
- Items on the D-Pad are bound to the slot rather than the item - Changed Options Menu and Minimap toggle to be on a short button release timer - Added support to change 30 FPS mode and the D-Pad Layout in the Pause Screen - Added D-Pad Layout tracking - Added FPS tracker when 30 FPS mode is enabled - Added new D-Pad Layout for cycling through gear while holding L - Added Mask Swap option (once the sidequest is completed) - Added Mask Abilities option - Added restoring the D-Pad Layout and last equipped mask upon loading the save slot - Fixed issue with default colors for Extra Ability Tunic being wrong - Fixed issue with Lens of Truth not properly unlocking on Redux with D-Pad - Fixed issues with restoring the last equipped mask - Fixed issues with Random Enemies and Inverse Aiming Sadly it didn't quite work out to make every item equippable on the D-Pad like it does with MM, but it has plenty of other new features. Most of the improved logic from the last MM Redux is now present in OoT Redux too. And there's a bunch of smaller changes and such. Also... You can now leave the options menu disabled but still have their options applied to be more of a permanent ROM. If that's what you're into. As usual, report bugs and I'll fix it. As for what's next. It's time to resume the next Child Quest hack again. Look forward to that. 08-31-2024, 10:04 PM
Time for another major update: v24.0.0.
It's been a while since the last update but we got some big stuff for the Patcher64+ Tool. The biggest feature is the new Redux hack for The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, currently at version v1.0. It comes with a few options. Awesome game by the way. The second biggest feature, but probably not useful right now at the moment is the overhaul of the Scene Editor. It's bigger, stronger and better than before. It's now capable of correctly shifting maps and scenes when inserting or removing entities (actors, objects, entrances, exits and so on). For which I did some comparing with the decomp to make sure data is shifted accordingly. This is required for the Child Quest revisions still in the works since it turned out to be a bit bigger than expected to handle. Buuuuut, if you like to write your own map or scene changes it should allow for it properly now. Or so I hope. Paper Mario received some buffs too. This annoying item block is moved now, but most importantly, health for enemies can now be raised up to 255 instead of 99. So go nuts when customizing your own Hard Mode. There's another big feature. We are no longer going to host custom models ourselves that other authors control. Instead there's a new repository plugin system that allows other custom model authors to collaborate with us in including their custom models. Ikey Ilex's models are the first to join. Any issues with custom models are now directly related to the author him/herself, since we no longer have any control over it. In fact, we don't host it in our codebase anymore. The patcher is set up in such a way it pulls the models from the repository from the author instead. This gives the author full control over his own work. Ohh... Redux for both OoT and MM got updated with several fixes as well, including a new buyable 4th wallet for MM. And there's a couple of new options for both games to enjoy. And a new ROM hack for OoT. |
