Will the Texture pack be canceled when the remaster is released?

I have fear now that the Remake/remaster is there that no one does any textures anymore and that the Project will be abborded. I haven't personally made any textures for this pack in a long time. I just meant that I'm not going to close the thread or "move on". If people continue creating textures I'll continue to update the pack. 05-24-2024, 07:57 AM
HAPPY REMAKE DAY EVERYBODY! (as in the switch version released today) I assume most of us will be checking out Nintendo's official Remake of Thousand-Year Door when we can. I feel like the original and the remake can coexist with each other, so I'm still quite glad to have added to this HD Texture Pack over the last year as I know this will still be some people's preferred way to play TTYD in HD. I really do wonder though, will I at the end of the day prefer the GameCube version or the Switch one? I can't wait to find out! 05-25-2024, 06:57 AM
Has anyone had luck in android? I tried dds and PNG on my Odin 2. Using OpenGL. When it starts up, it says "Loading '6307' custom textures", but I don't see any difference in the game itself. I've used the same process to install HD Windwaker and Mario Sunshine textures with no issues

PNG will work but you most likely aren't waiting long enough. With prefetch on, the game will attempt to read ALL 6307 textures. If you're waiting on the title screen and that texture is #6300 in Dolphin's queue, then Dolphin has 6299 textures to load and cache before it can show you the updated title screen. Windwaker/Mario likely have less textures which means less time to wait when prefetching. You should also be conscious of memory. Depending on what model you have, Odin 2 doesn't have much memory (highest model has 16GB which depending on texture size might be limiting). Dolphin will disable texture loads if you go over the memory limit. The best option would be to disable prefetch. You may see some slight pop-in but it should be quite fast and Dolphin will only load custom textures for game textures in the current scene which avoids the memory issue. EDIT: I do plan on looking at how I can optimize our asset loading system but not sure when I will get to it. And there's no guarantee it will fix your issue. 05-26-2024, 05:18 AM
Oh awesome, thanks, pre-fetch turned off finally gets PNG working with OpenGL!!!
Previously DDS in Vulkan was the only way I could get it working with pre-fetch on, but Vulkan has weird graphical issues of random colors flickering on the screen; even on the start screen, so I'm excited to see this working! 05-26-2024, 12:21 PM

Here's a link to a new DDS version of the texture I converted (I haven't tested it but it's probably fine). Also included is the original PNG. A Texture from Chapter 2 in DDS |
