VERSION 2.2 UNOFFICIAL UPDATE (August 2023) A routine update to the default v2.2. The new textures are in a folder called "Unofficial Additions" and I went through the process of deleting any textures that they may be replacing. The optional "Magical Map" textures are added by default. Hope you all enjoy it! Only available in PNG and not DDS. If there are any issues, please let me know. I made a version of the box art in English that uses the Japanese Artwork in case anyone wants to use it. JP Custom Box Art (English) 08-31-2023, 03:00 PM
In case anyone's wondering, you can load this box art through Dolphin. Visit the link and go to "Dolphin Grid View Icon" for more details.

A very special announcement has been made by Nintendo today, but since this forum becomes 10 years old in just 3 days, I thought I'd make a commemorative post. I only just started posting to this forum this year, but it's been great to add to this project as I have so much respect for the pack and all the hard work that's been put into it. Make no mistake, the passion players have for this game not only led to this Dolphin project but definitely inspired Nintendo to bring back Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door: we did that, the passion and respect this community has for this game did that. Never forget just how worthwhile your effort really was. There really is a lot to be happy for on this anniversary. In the image above this message, you'll find the profile photos of everyone who's made a post on this forum thread, although not everyone who's posted here has a profile photo. A genuine thank you to anyone who cared about this project enough to even make a singular post. And finally, a most sincere thank-you to Ryota Kawade, chief director for the first three Paper Mario games. Your collection of Mario spin-offs genuinely means the world to me and we will never forget them. 09-15-2023, 03:01 AM
I'm still in disbelief right now, what a time to be alive.
And only days away from this thread's 10th anniversary. Also, awesome looking collage as always Viola, glad to have been part of it! 09-15-2023, 05:58 AM
Thanks, Thym! Also, I really appreciate the work you put into some of the character sprites for this project.

I happened upon this script called Custom Texture Tool and figured I should convert them myself. Does this look right for the settings? (The "Enable Sharpening" setting apparently only applies if a texture has to be resized.) If I can get better results by changing any of these settings, or if this has a fatal flaw I'm not aware of, please let me know! Those settings look fine. There isn't usually much that needs to be configured aside from setting the output type and DDS format, I tried to make it so the default options selected are ideally what you should need. The "Enable Sharpening" is mostly for mipmap generation or resizing textures, the tool should not modify texture appearance if the resolution does not change. But, when downscaling textures the result can be a bit blurry, this is especially noticeable on lower mipmaps since each level has 1/4 the pixel count of the previous level. The amount of sharpening applied is calculated based on the amount of change to the texture resolution so it isn't over-sharpened or not sharpened enough. The only reason it's possible to disable it is because the results can very seldomly be undesired. I added the ability to disable it one day when generating icons, as I noticed the smaller versions of the icons lost some detail from the sharpening filter. As for textures, I've never known it to be detrimental. Also, if the script has a fatal flaw I would also like to be made aware of it. 10-12-2023, 09:22 AM
Hey everybody,
first I want to say that I absolutely love the texture pack and I'm amazed how much effort you all put in there! But I found a little error. Maybe this was found already? In the Item Menu and the Recipes screen, the sprite for the Egg Bomb is actually the sprite for the pasta! I made a screenshot of it.
