I have done a test to see if OpenCL actually makes Dolphin a little faster. Not sure OpenCL is finished, also drivers are still beta, so it's not the final conclusion of course. This was done with r4453 Win7 x64. (specs in sig)
How it was done: Settings were the same in both tests, all graphic set to lovest and sound disabled. Used Dx9 plugin. Went to Good Egg galaxy and did the speed run for star 1. There's a 4 minute timer for the star. I let Mario stand completely still and used a stop watch to see how long it took for the timer to reach zero for both with and without OpenCL. And here's the result.
Normal Dolphin: 4:08.308
OpenCL Dolphin: 4:07.939
As you can see, the difference is hardly enough to cover for the unaccuracy of me pressing the stop watch, so in this condition, OpenCL had no impact on speed. If anyone have results of speed differing, post here. (Maybe there's a difference if you actually move around?)
