well, my point was kinda the fact that aside from graphics drivers or OS (which is why i only listed those, since everything else doesn't really matter here), what else could be causing this differentiation? code is code, and, since i think you're both running windows 64 bit, the fact that you're using nvidia display drivers as opposed to ati ones is the only pertinent difference surely?

dunno if it's the only one, but - just as mentioned before - it wouldn't be the first time.

@ NeoBrain: Are you or Rodolfo working on fixing the offset bloom or don't you have any idea how to fix it? I mean, it hasn't always been offset if I remember right. And it's an issue that effects a lot of good games.

it seems Dx11 is progressing pretty well. but now that openGL 4.1 is announced, will there be any opengl love from dolphin side?

Something with DX11 or the offset bloom stuff in DX9? About the latter one, it must be some missing +-0,5f in the draw*quad functions.. since there has been a comparatively major API behavior change concerning texture coordinates from DX9 to DX10. We barely need any DX10/DX11 SPECIFIC features in the DX11 plugin.. the only reasons to write a new plugin for it were the cleaner API and some other nice stuff. Now OpenGL 4.1. is still basically just OpenGL 2.0 plus some random extensions, i.e. we might pick up some useful extensions in the future but it's not like the OGL 4.1 release would boost Dolphin OGL development or something. 08-03-2010, 03:31 AM
Thx for answering
Uhm, actually, it's in both plugins...I just checked. You can see it in this picture someone posted some time ago in the Mario Kart Wii thread: http://img211.imageshack.us/f/dolphin201...11588.png/ (it's that stuff he calls ghosting...it's also there when you're not moving, though)...sometimes you can merely see it, sometimes it's really obvious...it's also quite strong in Zelda Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, and well, it was also there in Dead Space Ex, as soon as you put your helmet on, but I just checked again and it seems that was something else which has been fixed at some time. I'm just surprised that this issue hasn't been tackled yet because you guys have already cracked much more difficult ones considering this hasn't always been broken Take your time, though ^^

or don't you get this issue? Don't say it's an nvidia-only thing again -_-

The "bit blue" is due to logic blending not being supported in DX9/DX10/DX11/DXwhatever, i.e. it can't be fixed.
About the ghosting stuff: That one appears only in DX9 for me, sure that it happens in DX11 for you as well? (fwiw, I was talking about the ghosting stuff in my previous post) 08-04-2010, 05:23 AM

yeah, I know about the logic blending stuff (a little workaround is disable fog btw), the picture is not mine, I just took it here to show you the ghosting/bloom effect stuff
Hm, strange, yeah, it's also there in DX11 for me. Maybe a tidbit less but it's hard to tell...at least in Mario Kart Wii...I'll test Zelda now... yeah, well, for me it's the same with DX9 and DX11...could anyone else confirm this, please? Maybe someone with an nvidia-card? Metroid Prime 3 seems to have gotten pretty f**ked up lately with DX11, when I got ingame there was only a big heap of glitchyness ^^ You can also see it quite well in Wii Sports - Tennis, when you look at the ball...I guess it's in every game that has bloom effects.

Using the DX11 plugin causes all my reds to be replaced with browns.
Using an ATI Radeon 4770. Works fine otherwise, just the colour issue. The DX9 plugin shows the correct colours. |
