Optimisation for nougat and marshmellow is needed. It is not the drivers fault. 5.0 lolipop powerful phones seem to run the games faster than faster phones with 7.0 that also have graphical issues. Please fix.
Nougat And Marshmellow Problem

I really doubt that the OS itself is what's making a difference for this. Are you sure that two different OS versions on the same hardware and graphics drivers running the same version of Dolphin have significant differences in performance? (Please don't compare with "faster" phones – that a phone is faster at many things doesn't mean that it's better at everything, and as always, the graphics drivers can make a large difference.)

I sincerely doubt you are using a 5.0 phone that is running faster. Period. Between ES 3.2 and the sheer speed of the A72+, any phone that can run 5.0 would be totally eclipsed. 10-11-2017, 08:27 AM

Seems like you're really knowledgable about how this all works if you're so sure. That said, feel free to submit PRs. 10-11-2017, 09:44 AM

Ive done research and compared both OS on both my s6 that has 5.0 and another one 7.0 . But 5.0 beats it in dolphin performance and no graphical issues. However. It may be correct there is a bug in the new updates that allow this to happen 10-11-2017, 09:47 AM

melee is incredibly easy to emulate. Melee runs on pretty much everything with stable drivers. Melee is the one game we recommend to users with weak systems. You're not making a very good point here.
So let me make sure I have this correct. You don't have any programming knowledge to submit PRs to make the Android version better (or even know what needs to be improved). Your Android knowledge is mostly from a power user's perspective. You tested different android versions (with different driver versions, but you didn't check/know that). And you're drawing your conclusions without looking at our graphics code, or knowing how our rendering pipeline works, or how drivers interact with that. Is that correct? Just need to make sure I'm reading this thread correctly. 10-12-2017, 03:11 AM
To a native app there's pretty much zero difference in anything that can have a performance impact since JellyBean MR2.
Any changes between versions are likely different driver versions, though small changes could be different tunings to the schedulers and/or throttling behavior. Native apps just aren't as reliant on various android systems (like the java JIT or other frameworks) that could affect performance and are heavily modified between android versions. 10-12-2017, 03:11 AM
That is the logic explaination: S6 with 5.0 had old drivers, S6 with 7.0 has newer drivers. The Mali drivers get worse as it get updated.
PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / GTX 660 2GB / 16GB DDR4 3600MHz / Windows 10 Pro
Phones: Poco F3 8/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636) 10-12-2017, 08:32 AM
