I have 4 wii motes (2 actual Nintendo versions and 2 third-party versions, all with built in motion plus) and they work great and I can play a number of games perfectly.. but not a single one of the controllers is able to get the shake function in Super Mario Wii to work.. other games like Wii Sports or Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (where you have to move the controller a lot too) work great. I think it's kind of strange that not a single one of the controllers can get a shake registered.. (although it worked at first but then stopped working on my third party controllers, so I thought they where busted already and lent some official Wiimotes to try, but these don't work as well)
Maybe I could reset the data of Dolphin to get it to work or something? (I updated to the latest version today) Or some option I'm overlooking that makes the emulator ignore the shake? I allso read about a "trick" to dislodge the accelerometer (hit the WiiMote on all corners) but that didn't work
