This small texture pack consist to bring the UI featured on the Chinese release of New Super Mario Bros. Wii on NVIDIA Shield to Dolphin Emulator, especially to those using it on their SHIELD due to the controller layout.
Let’s say that by using this pack on your SHIELD, you’re fooling NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios and Nintendo as they didn’t intend to bring those awesome releases in western countries. However, I didn’t rip those textures from their official release as I don’t have access to it. I just made them myself from start to finish without using any of their assets. So there’s no lincensing issues with this texture pack.
Everything has been done after gameplay footage, aiming for maximum resemblance.

What changed ?
- Warning screen (replaced by NVIDIA Lightspeed Studio logo)
- Main font (replaced by DFP Hai Bao, used on the Chinese release that I basically redone entirely to make it fit on our release)
- Controller icon for multiplayer (replaced by Shield controller)
- Button 2 is now A
- Button 1 is now X/B
- Button A is now Y
- Button + is now Start
- Button – is now Back
- Tilt animation tutorial (replaced by LT/RT indicator)
- Shake animation tutorail (replaced by LB/RB indicator)
The pack is fully compatible with the texture pack made by Bighead and has the same folder structure. Bellow are mirror downloads of his pack and I included a patch for it in my own pack.
x8 is overkill (maybe for 4K)
x4 is more balanced
x2 for less powerful devices (that's what I use on the Shield)
DDS seems to have less performance impact than PNG, but is heavier in storage space.
The pack is made for the European version of the game and support all of its languages. It should also work for the American version.

As an extra, you can download config files I’ve made for this game on the Shield, including ini tweaks, controller profiles and so on.

Simply copy and paste the folders into your « dolphin-emu » folder. To set the controllers, you have to replace your controller device id in SNMP01.ini (inside dolphin-emu/GameSettings/SNMP01.ini) with your own controller ids… To get them, just assign any input form within Dolphin Emulator, save your changes and open Dolphin.ini from « dolphin-emu/Config/Dolphin.ini ». You’ll find you controller id within the [Android] section.
If you’re using the American version of the game, rename SNMP01.ini to SMNE01.ini.

The perfect addition would be to be able to add Leanback shortcuts to New Super Mario Bros. Wii directly on the launcher. I didn’t succeed to do that natively (trough an APK working as a shortcut) yet. Another idea would be to make custom shortcuts in HALauncher, pack them together in a custom channel displayed in stock launcher but HALauncher custom shortcuts doesn’t load their banner on Leanback launcher for a mysterious reason. The only solution I got to work properly is to set up ARC Browser with a new system (Wii custom), using N64 (1.44 :1) box-art with custom box-art next to the ISO file (same name with « _box » at the end) in PNG. Then you can add those games to a collection, which you can add on Leanback launcher to look nice and sleek. You can get te custom banner I made here :
Here’s how it looks like in action :
Hope you'll enjoy this little texture pack, have fun!
