Multiple Gamecube Controllers?

Is there a way to get multiple gamecube controllers working? I can config them just fine. I am using and xbox 360 wireless adapter. Player 1 works fine but 2-4 won't work at all but are configured. Help please.

Config > Gamecube

Set port 2-4 "Standard controller"

Make sure the listed ports under the Gamecube tab are not dummies, they should be standard controllers.
