Trying to download the HD pack for the Trilogy version of the games, but the download just ends in "forbidden." Is this a know issue or is there something I'm missing?

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this or had this problem, but with the HD texture pack in use Meta Ridley's ground fire wave in the aerial phase is completely invisible (which makes it absurdly difficult to dodge). This occurs with the standalone MP1 texture pack, but I do not know which texture is the cause and I don't have the option to use the trilogy pack since I'm running mp1 randomized (and the .iso has to be the standalone GC version).
Any assistance would be appreciated; thanks in advance. 05-17-2022, 01:00 PM

Strange, I beat Ridley just yesterday actually and didnt notice anything strange with him, came back here for the second games texture lol. 05-19-2022, 01:06 AM

For me, the black dot goes away for the green aim icon, but when I go to a save station I see a black dot in the same spot instead. In my case I'm using Primehack, I'm unsure if that makes a difference.
Hey, I got some questions. I've been using Topaz to do some AI upscaling as well as touching up some texture work. A friend of mine saw what I was up to and suggested to put it out there, but I don't know what's courtesy and legal since I'm disconnected from doing most social media at all what-so-ever.
I did things such as grab some images from google in order to replace the low quality bumper sticker textures from MP3 as well as some stock images as I have non-existent artistic skill. I've also been working hard to improve the MP1 Samus armor textures, but here's the thing: I've been using both photoshop and paint.net in order to do it regardless of having no prior experience in either program. I'm content with the work I've done thus far, but I've mostly did it to entertain myself, and I know nothing of things like size compression or anything like that. I merely converted raw upscaled images of the files to BC7 .dds. If people would like it, and I wouldn't have Ninten-ninjas at the door, I don't mind sharing what I have. What would I do to ensure that this process is legal and courteous? Varia MP1 in-game: https://imgur.com/a/ELNYv2i
Sorry for the double post-- I would edit my prior one, but I guess the site only allows for a post to be edited once? I saw Venomalia did MP1 and 2 upscales using the ESRGAN HDCube2 method. I saw that the quality of the dumps were much better than what I could accomplish using Gigapixel AI. I still have those Gigapixel ones in a zip file, but I re-dumped my personal files with the alternative upscaling as it seemed vastly superior.
While re-sizing those textures, something had been bugging me for a while; Since I use re-shade to mess with the saturation among other filters, the green light map textures seemed to have been creating these blotchy light sources that appear awful in MP3. I went tinkering and found that if you simply replace the green and magenta maps with something like a 4x4 black .dds image, it uses that as a transparency instead. I found that this looks better than leaving the emulator to load the default ones. Green Light Contrasts: https://imgur.com/a/J1aotzd 09-03-2022, 12:43 PM
Thanks for this Malkierian, it really does improve the experience on a large screen (playing at 110").
If anyone is interested this is how it's looking at 4k/60 (with some other fixes/mods). Having a blast, haven't played it in about 13 years since it was released on Wii. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwQ625YufUw (11-19-2021, 07:25 AM)Spacecode Wrote: ...Thanks for this, that solved the snow issue for me. Not a huge issue as it's not during normal gameplay but would be nice to fix it. 09-05-2022, 07:43 AM
I haven't found any fix for it sadly. Last time I looked at these texture packs for the Metroid Prime games I was looking between this and two other ones here that had some bonus textures for this. Trying to find the best textures between the 3 and remove glitches from this one has been a bit of a hassle.

I get the dot with or without the texture pack, haven't figured out how to fix it completely. The two big bugs with this one were the health bar and the missing snow which were fixed pretty easily with some recommendations above, there could be others but nothing immediately obvious. Really happy with it overall though, it's night and day on a large display. I did try a couple of other texture packs and they didn't seem quite as detailed as this one. |
