Yep, I was using "async ubbers" and "compile shaders before starting". But I'm sure that the HD textures are the problem since if I disable them the problem disappears.

About crashes/stutter: in theory, you should enable "preload textures" to fix stutter. In practice, it causes dolphin to eventually crash if pack is big enough, which is the case for this one. The best course of action for now is to put textures on ramdisk (zram also works well) and turn texture preloading OFF.

Using the MP3 ones atm and I'm loving how crisp and clean the game looks. However, does anyone know how to get rid of the dot in the center of the screen? I tried the texture thats on the dolphin wiki page for MP3 but the dot remains visible

So... one stupid question guys:
If I only want to load the MP2 textures from the pack, Do i need to only delete "MP1" & ""MP3" folders? Inside "\User\Load\Textures\R3M\" only the "Common" and "MP2" folders are left. Is it right? 11-19-2021, 07:25 AM

I have fixed the health bar issue but I cannot for the life of me find the snow texture, someone please help lmao. Pretty surprising to find no one else mentioning this issue anywhere. First thing I noticed setting foot in Phendrana was that it wasn't snowing. Surely that must be the case with everyone using this pack, no? Decided I'd throw up a post to maybe save anyone else future trouble in tracking down the texture. Took me hours of elimination honestly; texture dumping never seemed to grab it for me. The snowflake texture appears to be "tex1_64x64_m_09223f92a4d83e02_14". Shows as just a solid black for me. Just remove it from the pack and you should have the vanilla snow falling. Anyway, thanks to Malkierian for the awesome work. It's been great to revisit this game and have it looking so good on a monitor. 11-25-2021, 04:36 AM
So I installed this pack along with the HD interface pack and am running the newest version of PrimeHack. The game starts and runs fine, but if I try to load a save state, the screen glitches out and rapidly flashes between the actual game and a "Metroid Prime Trilogy Loading..." screen in the top-left with the rest of the screen a "missing texture" purple. Setting the textures to preload doesn't help. I tried to get a screenshot, but Dolphin only captures the game screen, even if I manage to pause the emulation on the glitched loading screen.
Edit: Just went to the HD interface thread and found a solution. Disregard this post. 01-04-2022, 11:19 AM

Could you please confirm which game version (Trilogy/individual release) you encountered this on and attach a state save? I'd like to test this out myself. 01-23-2022, 01:25 PM
If anyone is having the green dot issue using this HD texture pack I found the exact texture file causing the issue that conflicts with Dolphin's custom texture dot fix.
In the Common folder of this HD texture pack remove the tex1_128x32_b2f411682a7de4a5_14.dds file and the green dot will go away as long as you are using Dolphin's dot fix. 02-16-2022, 10:11 PM

Yo, checking out some of the newer models here: https://upscale.wiki/wiki/Model_Database UniversalUpscalerV2 Sharper by Mutin_Choler and UniScale-Strong by Kim2091 both look better to me for many if not most of the textures in Metroid Prime compared to the gigapixel model the main pack here uses. I want to rescale all the textures myself to try it out in-game but I'm 99% certain textures with transparency will be broken and I'm not sure which ones would need to be reviewed. If someone knows which textures need to be double checked for transparency issues can you list them for me? Also I noticed this original dump here has more textures than the upscaled pack does which is concerning. Wondering if the extra apparently unneeded textures might cause issues. |
