What is the point in doing this tutorial if it gives no effect on this specific game? How can it improve the stability of the game?
I really didnt get the hang of the tutorial that ED2 did and just made my own interpretation of it.
I just downloaded dsp_coef and dps_rom and placed them in Dolphin/user/gc. Have i now completed the tutorial and made it possible to run DSP LLE?
I tried to run the game and got this message http://i50.tinypic.com/zv4v4g.jpg which resulted in no sound at all.
If someone wants to help me, please explain it as easy as you can. Im a total retard when it comes to these things.
I'm going to try to explain once and for all :p When set to use LLE, Dolphin emulates the GC/Wii DSP (the component responsible for sound) as accurately as possible. With it, you'll get better results than HLE audio, if your system can handle how demanding LLE audio can be. To use LLE audio, you must provide Dolphin with the dsp_coef and dsp_rom files. These files come in two types:
1) The real files are extracted directly from the physical console itself (e.g. a real GC or Wii). These can only legally be obtained through ED2's tutorial, there are no shortcuts. Since these files are directly from the original hardware, they'll work with every game that Dolphin can use LLE audio.
2) What's known as the reversed iROM made by LM1234. These files were reverse eingeneered to work similarly to real DSP dumps. However these files were only designed to run with a limited number of games, the ones that use the Zelda uCode.
You downloaded the second one. MGS:TTS does not use the Zelda uCode, therefore it won't work. The reversed iROM is for people who don't want to dump the real DSP files and want to play a Zelda uCode game. For everyone else, you must get the real DSP files from an actual GC or Wii. If you want the real ones, follow ED2's guide. If you're confused about the process, feel free to post a question in that thread.
