Actually my answer was rather cynical 'cause I tend to prefer Keira Knightly too Quote:Still haven't seen those. But it's supposedly very good. You have to. Old movies that's right but excellent (cult at least) movies. Part3 is less excellent but has to be seen too as a conclusion of the saga

From the previews, i've seen, i particularly dislike anything that involves time travel, i've seen underworld & POTC, they were not good, a friend of mine also told me to run away from the new ghost rider so i never even gave it a chance.
What i'm frustrated about is most movies that have a good first part should be left as it is but money hungry producers dont care and make a shitty sequel that ruins the series completely, i've seen this happen so many times

Don't tell me you dislike that too? o.o Quote:What i'm frustrated about is most movies that have a good first part should be left as it is but money hungry producers dont care and make a shitty sequel that ruins the series completely, i've seen this happen so many timesA perfect example of this is Saw. First part was great, then it was getting milked. 05-07-2012, 06:50 AM
I love time travel movies, especially Time Cop with Jean-Claude van Dam from 1994. But also the Back to the future movies too.
Flight of the navigator also comes to mind from 1986. I'm amazed by time travel in fiction. 05-07-2012, 07:08 AM
Quote:What? It makes perfect sense to conclude plot points in the final movie... *facepalm* Read what I said again. Quote:Have you seen Back to the Future? Don't tell me you dislike that too? o.o Suddenly introducing time travel into a story tends to destroy narrative coherence. If time travel is an integral part of the story from the beginning that it won't affect narrative coherence at all.

It really matters how it is done. Not that I can name anything that is primarily film based that would be a good example, but as long as you don't screw up the whole plot of a 40 year old series (ie what JJ Abrams did to star trek (although time travel already was included before overwriting the whole franchise's plot)) it can be done without winding people up.

Usually when movies/series etc decide to use time traveling, its just to make a reason to continue the movie/series. |
