I've tried running New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy on my laptop, and in both cases the games don't appear to recognize the keyboard input as emulated wii inputs. However, in both the GameCube Controllers and Wii Remote settings, it recognizes keyboard input - for instance, arrow keys as joysticks in GameCube, or WASD as nunchuk joystick (I think) for the Wii Remote settings. I've tried various common fixes such as pressing reset or clear in either settings or disabling either GameCube or Wii Remote and leaving the other enabled, but to no avail. It doesn't merely stop working when the game opens; if I switch over to the window with the settings, it still recognizes the inputs there. The only recognized device in the dropdown is "XInput2/0/Virtual core pointer".
Here's a bunch of info that may be relevant:
Dolphin Version: 5.0-21088 (Obtained from Flathub)
OS: Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon
Input type: Built-in keyboard and trackpad.
Hardware: Acer Nitro 517-54 (1TB option), all original parts except a 64GB memory upgrade. I'm not sure how configurable it was, but it has a 1TB SSD and came with 16GB of RAM.
More specifically (copied from system information tab):
CPU: 11th Gen Intel© Core™ i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz × 8
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU
RAM: 62.6 GiB
Display Server: X11
I thought about sending a photo or video but then realized a video of nothing happening on the title screen probably isn't particularly helpful.
Thank you for your time.
