Is it possible to update Snapdragon GPU drivers?

I'm using a OnePlus One with a Snapdragon 801. I always hear about how the GPU drivers are trash for this SoC, but I also hear that "xxxxx is better in the new Adreno xxxxx driver".

Q1: Is it possible to manually update my Adreno's graphics driver, or would I have to wait for a software update or use a custom kernel that would use this new driver?

Q2: I'm trying to determine my GPU driver version, the FAQ says:
"With v95 Qualcomm drivers, nearly all rendering bugs are gone.
You can determine your driver version in Dolphin Mobiles About page."

In the About page under the GLES2/GLES3 tab it says "OpenGL ES 3.0 V@66.0 AU@04.04.04.087.028 (CL@)" - Does this mean I am on v66 of the Qualcomm drivers?

Thanks,
Oscar

Q1. Maybe, it will require fiddling and it may not even work
Q2. Yes, that means you have v66 drivers.

I understand that it would require some fiddling. Fortunately I have a custom recovery so I could easily make a Nandroid backup before updating it. Could you perhaps point me in the right direction?

Qualcomm offers development drivers on their site.
Look at what that includes, rip the same files from a Nexus 5/6 and find them on your device and replace them

Did that, got the latest Nexus 5 ones since it has the same GPU as the OnePlus One. Flashed it successfully and the device boots, Dolphin's version number has changed however it is still V@66 but has more text after that than before.

Strange.

Did that ages ago for my Note3... same results. V66 with a looong text behind. So it is normal. I'd like to see some new drivers for it, too. Maybe the Lollipop update will help there ...

The drivers listed are post v66 dev builds.  They aren't as up to date as the v95 drivers available on 5.0 devices.  You need access to a rooted nexus 5 or a nandroid backup to procure newer drivers.

Well, I tried the driver from a nightly CM 12 on my Note 3 4.4.2 TW based ROM... no dice. Was obvious that this will happen ^^ Next: Try Lollipop TW Leak. ^^
