Some games yes, mostly GameCube games I guess will run full speed or as near as it gets. But heavier Wii games might be needing an OC. As I see it the 960 is 3.2 stock, you should be able to take it up to 3.4-3.7GHz maybe 3.8GHz maximum safely to enjoy Dolphin really good. 12-08-2011, 10:23 PM
You will be able to run most Wii and GC games on stock clocks.
There are some games; SMG2 for example, that would require you to overclock in order to maintain stable framerates. 12-08-2011, 11:08 PM

your old i7 overclocked to 3.6-3.8 should be as fast as the sandybridge at normal clock

Quote:Oh alright but if you raise the vcore what is the worst thing that can happen? Destroying the chip. Raising the voltage of any component in the chip increases power consumption, increases heat/temperature, and reduces lifespan. If the voltage is raised high enough it will fry the chip or make the system unstable. If you're going to raise the vcore you should only do so by a small amount, an amount that has been deemed safe for long term use by the overclocking community.
