Hey everyone, I was planning on getting a new mobo + Hyper 212 Evo for overclocking my i5 in the next couple of weeks. I'm aiming for 4.5 GHz and I was wondering if Twilight Princess runs 100% with LLE on 4.5 GHz. It runs "okay" in most places when I have LLE meaning around 50-60 fps when I'm not in Hyrule Field. Would anyone be able to confirm or deny 100% at 4.5?

Well , you will get huge speed up from 3.3 (3.5GHz turbo boost) to 4.5GHz (at least 30% speed up)

My i5 2500k at 4.5ghz does get full speed with LLE the majority of the time, but Hyrule field still slows down It runs games well enough that the GPU is always the bottleneck. The only exceptions are games like Muramasa, which has almost no work for the GPU to do, and Mario Galaxy 2, which, when paired with LLE, is generally an insane CPU destroyer (I think I did see an improvement of at least 10 frames in SMG 2 when I did the overclock).

Ahh, alrighty then. Thanks for the responses. Looking forward to overclocking

4.5ghz is very easy to achieve on 2500k
most top out by 4.8 though imo

Because i5 4670k @ 4.5GHz is faster than i5 2500k @ 5.0GHz
What's the point of buying i5 2500k right now ? Laptop: Mini PC :: 03-18-2013, 04:47 AM

It starts requiring a lot more voltage for each decimal increase, and even though it's still safely possible it's not really worth it considering how small a difference adding 0.1 or 0.2ghz will make. |
