Well, if that's the case, know that I may take some time to update stuff, hahaha!

I've updated the textures, here's the download.
What's new - Razor Rendezvous level has the planet Kothlis revamped (though, as this is a quick attempt, I might update it with a higher-res version later). - Notice that there are two moons, one that was once molten and is now ice (orbiting very close to Kothlis), and the other is still somewhat molten and is located at a higher angle of elevation with respect to everything in the scene. They are now high-res. - The light/shadow physics of the planet/moons are corrected relative to the sun. 01-11-2015, 09:51 AM
Awesome! Just so you know, the mips you included are incorrect (I know you're just matching what the game does). They crashed the game for me. Every mip should be half the size of the last one until you reach a mip that is 8X8. Though it doesn't seem like mips are necessary for the textures you've made. I saw no issues with just using the textures without the mips.
Edit: It does look great, though I find that the brightness of it clashes a bit with the other textures, especially the planet. 01-11-2015, 10:07 AM

What I've noticed about the Death Star texture is the fact that there are 6 mipmaps, but they are all the same size and quality as the original. Is there a reason for this? Yes like I said I think this is a bug with Dolphin. You want your mips to be like this, assuming you have a 1024x1024 texture. 1024x1024 = 512x512, 256x256, 128x128, 64x64, 32x32, 16x16, 8x8 = 7 mipmaps That's why I posted the mipmap generator, saves a bunch of time manually resizing the same image 7 times. You only need mipmaps for textures that use mipmaps. Also, looking very nice! I might have to play around with this game now. 01-11-2015, 02:30 PM
These high resolution textures are a solid improvement. Keep up the great work, everyone!

I've updated the textures, here's the download.
What's new - Endor Death Star has been tweaked, so that it's brightness doesn't distract the player from other objects in the scene. Please let me know if there is an improvement here. - As mentioned by Echoes and Bighead, I have changed all _mip files accordingly; and there is an added bonus: the texture folder is a lot smaller now! |
