Anyways a serious question, as is know copying the efb to texture isn't accurate and causes issues such as no mini map in ZTP or spinning coins or blocks in New Super Mario Bros. My question is can the efb be copied to graphics card Vram for faster efb -> ram emulation with the proper effects? I was always under the assumption that efb -> ram copied to the system ram which would be slow, why not do this on the graphics card, I think it would likely be faster. As far as I know copying to texture isn't copying to ram, hence why proper effects aren't produced with this "hack".

No extreme, he is right. efb to ram copies the efb to system ram while efb to texture copies the efb into video ram as a texture. This is why efb to texture will provide a significant speedup with a fast video card (assuming your not bottlenecked by something else which is almost always the case). The problem is that any data stored in vdram can only be accessed by the gpu since it's dedicated ram, since the cpu cannot access it many effects don't work properly.

I don't think we're getting what each other are trying to say here, but I think a good way of putting it--as mentioned earlier--is that the blur in the corner is a side effect of properly emulating the game, because it is supposed to be there, but it's just not supposed to be in the corner; it should fit the entire screen. In any case, my point is that I don't want it there at all. It looks fine on standard definition televisions like when you're playing it on your GC/Wii, but on a computer monitor when I'm trying to play the game in HD, I think the effect just makes the game look uglier--even if we could get it to fit the entire screen for higher resolutions. So this goes back to what I said I would like to do before: is there any way to just remove this effect specifically from the game but nothing else? Whether by modifying the GCM/ISO file itself or some hack in Dolphin, I don't care which. I just want to remove that specific effect, and then run the game in EFB to RAM so that I don't lose the other graphics that are supposed to be rendered.

Nope. We all understand each other perfectly. Both me and luis understand the issue but you clearly still do not. I will not bother answering your question/statement since I have already answered everything in it and therefore anything I would write would be a reiteration. So either you didn't read my posts or you didn't understand them, I'm going with number 2. Actually, their is one thing in your post that I haven't already answered.

Hmm, I thought the aiming issues were only with emulated wiimote, but they're also there with real wiimote, it seems...
Any fix for that?

Probably it was asked many times now but... Is there any patch available to fix the music in The Legend of Zelda TP?
So far the ones I got either have working sound with a second break every 2 seconds. ..I's annoying. The 2nd one play all music in field, but there is no sound (or short loop) while in cut scenes. Is there any newer version out now? |
