EFB Copies is set to Texture in the Hacks menu, but either way I'm not sure I want that since it will break some things in the game as you say.

Then you are going to have slow speed, your choice, afaik you can beat the game without any of those items (well maybe not the telescope)

If that's the only way I'll try it, and maybe disable it just for the parts it breaks. Hopefully they aren't many of them. edit: so I just tried enabling RAM instead of Texture (with and without Cache) but I see no difference. Also the telescope still works with them(unless you were mistaken that it shouldn't) 11-23-2013, 01:51 AM

Apparently the games ini overrides the dolphin options, which was implied by ExtremeDude2 but I didn't get it at first. Now it plays perfectly @ 29-30fps. What I did, in case somebody else has problems with Wind Waker(dolphin 4.0.1) (Not sure if these settings are optimal for every capable PC, check my setup in my profile): 1) Right-click the game in the dolphin window, and click properties. Click Show Defaults. Erase everything(or comment with # at the beginning of the line) in [Core], [VideoHacks] and [Video_Settings]. Save and exit this dialog. 2) Click Options->Configure. Enable Dual Core and Idle Skipping. Framelimit set to auto. 3) Click Options->DSP Settings. Make sure DSP HSE is enabled, and nothing else. Also use OpenAL in the audio backend(for me this removes stuttering) 4) Click Options-> Graphics settings. Use DX11 Backend if possible. In the Enhancement tab use Auto(multiple of 640x528) as the internal resolution(this removes the blurring of far objects). In the hacks tab enable EFB Copies to texture, Accuracy to Fast, Disable External Frame Buffer and enable OpenMP texture decoder and Fast Depth Calculation. 11-24-2013, 04:00 PM
Hi guys, new forum-er and dolphin user here
I'm having a problem running Dolphin. I've uploaded some screenshots, it's fairly easy to see what it is. For those that can't, the AA only works for things in the foreground, not the background. Everything in the distance looks horrible because of it. Here are the images Anyway, here are my settings, maybe I have something turned on that I shouldn't? Settings Important specs: Intel Core i5 2nd Gen 3.0Ghz Nvidia GTS450 (Upgrading to an AMD R9-270X soon) 4 GB Ram 1 TB HDD Windows 7 Thanks for the help! EDIT: Setting the renderer to OpenGL has fixed the issue it seems. I also set the EFB to RAM with Enable Cache on. One of those did the trick. Any way of getting this to work on DX11? Should I just stick to OpenGL for all games? Also, when the frame dips, I notice that the audio slows down as well. Any way to fix that? Sorry for all the questions :p 11-24-2013, 07:35 PM
You just need to turn the Internal Resolution up to fix that. OGL likely had it on auto by default which is why switching helped.
Audio emulation is working correctly if it slows down when the game slows down. That is how it's supposed to work. 11-24-2013, 09:38 PM

I turned down the AA and AF a little bit, so I'm running at a constant 30/31 FPS now. Maybe it's just me, but the audio sounds a little crackly. Anything I could do to try and improve that? Current Sound Settings: DSP HLE emu (fast) 100% Volume Nothing else is ticked Backend Settings: OpenAL Latency 2 12-04-2013, 01:05 AM
On the japanese version when you save, it gives a error (in game) and gets stuck in a saving loop.
Dolphin does write the save and it works after reseting the game, This happened in previous dolphin versions too. And on english the saving works fine. 12-04-2013, 10:31 PM
If that's a problem with the Japanese game, providing a savestate, savefile, screenshots, and such could allow an issue report to be made.

Here's screenshot of the error if gives when saving. I don't really know japanese but i'm guessing it says like it could write the save? It gives the error no matter where you save, but here's a save file just in the beginning of the game. https://mega.co.nz/#!rAlBiITQ!UOEaMm045e...MAaEGNAqk0 |
