Corrupted Save Files
Sometimes when using Save States the Super Mario Sunshine (SMS) save file can become corrupted. I suspect this is caused by creating a Save State at the same time the game is updating the Save File. So when reloading the Save State, the Save File becomes corrupted due to an incomplete save operation.

Unable to save to Memory Card in Slot A. Please insert the original Memory Card or press the A Button to continue without saving.
Fixing the save file
I found that in order to fix this problem, I needed to do the following:
- Create a Save State with my current progress of the game
- Optionally: Backup your Dolphin Folder (specifically the Save States and Memory Cards)
- Restart SMS and delete your save on the Start Screen
- Load your most recent Save State and Save the game. It should prompt you to create a new Save File.
It would be good if this was added to the Wiki, unfortunately I do not have permissions to create an edit.
