@skid: ok, but does the region of the console that the DSP files came from really have to match the game? This thread dedicated to making DSP dumps not only makes no mention of region, but the OP even lists one specific set of hashes for each of the two files. I figured if region were relevant to them working properly, someone on all those pages would have brought it to attention.

Edit Reason: game save renaming

If it's about getting the DSP files easily, there are ways that can't (I think) be discussed here... Quote:...oh well, I guess I can buy a shiny egg and just pretend it's a jewel chao Or you could settle for the real thing by "adopting" a Jewel from one of the generously donated chao garden files at Gamefaqs. "TheZeldaFan" has the most, "Hero Fly Chao" has a Gold and Silver. That only accounts for about half the Jewels from the TCG, and I recall not being able to change the region of these saves when they contradicted the region of my game, which resulted in Dolphin not recognizing them in those cases. PS: the saves are already in .GCI format, they just need to be renamed to the one Dolphin gives to garden saves ([...]ALF), and put in a card folder after setting a slot to "GCI File" in Dolphin's GameCube config.

I have no clue of any of what you just said, I'm going to need a tutorial. 11-12-2018, 04:56 PM

Ok so still no joy for chao pick up between the almost-latest versions of each emulator; Dolphin 5.0-9132 x64 and VBA-M W64bit v2.1.0, in case anyone cares [sigh]. My DSP files were the "real deal" hash-wise, they were placed in User\GC within Dolphin's folder because I'm running it with the "portable.txt" file. Naturally I tried all 3 DSP modes under Config > Audio again for this version. I can still drop off from SA2:B and pick up from SADX, so at least that hasn't regressed.

Do you think it would make sense at this stage for one of us to submit an issue report regarding chao pick up to the "bugs" Dolphin site? Some specialist attention may at least be able to narrow down the problem's origin to either Dolphin or VBA-M.

It still gives the same error, but unlike in the past you can click on "ignore for this session" and then it will continue loading the game. FYI I tried the game again, as I have done periodically after updating with no previous success, and it works for me, now! Stoked to finally replay it!

I've been having some struggles with getting used to the controls of this game. Does anyone have any recommendations for a keyboard control scheme? I've currently got movement mapped to the arrow keys, and the buttons mapped to the default settings that you start out with.

Whenever I boot up SA2:B, the game boots up from the GC Bios, and then freezes on a black screen, presumably while it's booting up. I've tried ripping the game again, changing the graphics settings, disabling and enabling dual-core, but nothing has worked. I was wondering if you could help. A reply would heavily be appreciated. Thanks! |
