I just finished Paper Mario 64 and want to continue to play through the rest of this awesome series, so all day I've been trying to get this emulator to work. unfortunately, i cannot get it to run at full speed.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Dolphin 2.0 (tried several others before settling on this one)
Gateway 503GR
Windows XP SP2
Pentium 4 Processor
3.0 Ghz, 1 Gig RAM
Nvidia 8800GT Overclocked
Single Core (not sure on this, but i believe i bought it before Dual Cores were common, about 5-ish years ago)
-----------------------------------------------------------
my machines a bit old, but because of my graphics card and what not, i very rarely have trouble running high performance stuff, but Dolphin isn't running anywhere near an acceptable speed for me.
after spending all day, I've managed to get the title screen to run at between 80%-105% with like 55-65 FPS (originally it was like 50%, major increase). However, at the starting cut scene, i only get 30% speed, and at the part where you begin at the docks, its about 20%-28% speed. That is where i have stopped so far.
I've tampered with many different settings (i believe it runs a few % faster with dual core off, as i probably don't even have a dual core), using Direct3d9 at the moment with whatever the newest Direct X is (i think 11). I have also tried everything in the speed up thread, including Game Booster (which does nothing for me), and using the Batch File. i have heard some talk about Watchdog, but i think that is only on older versions of Dolphin, replaced by Framelimit i guess? (i use Framelimit at 60+ with Audio Throttle turned off)
Does anyone have any idea how i can make this all run faster, preferably at double what I'm using it at now? I know its not the ISO, cause I have tried Metroid too (and its way worse). I'm going to try Luigi's Manson next, as I heard that requires lower performance, to test if its just my machine.
Sorry for the wall of text, please give me some feedback.
