I've tried doing this with the 4.0 builds, and it still does the same thing I described earlier

Well, then I guess there's nothing to do, is there... OpenGL is the only option available for OS X, no?

Yes. Unless you can use Windows via BootCamp.

You're more likely to get the "black screen bug" with OpenGL than with DX. That's what I mean

Hello, I'm very new to using the Dolphin emulator, and have been trying to play magical melody all afternoon.

The game loads up with no problem, goes through the developer screens with no problems. It plays with about 30-32FPS, between 80-100%, but as soon as the title screen starts loading, it drops to 2-15FPS and between 17-30%. If I open and start a new game, the frame rates go back up, and I can make my selections, but as soon as gameplay comes back in, everything drops.

I'm not very computer savvy, I know what I know, and I've been looking up possible fixes, but it sounds like everyone else's problems are sound based, and none of those fixes seem to make a difference. Is there something I am not doing? I feel really lost, and am getting really frustrated. Can someone help me please?

I'm on the latest dev version of Dolphin (4.0-3587) and am wondering if there was ever a fix for the missing village map? I've tried messing with and changing nearly every setting in the graphics settings menus but haven't had any luck getting the map to show up so figured I would ask about it. I've attached a screenshot, thanks.

Certain Graphics cards aren't working correctly with that still... radeons and Intel HDs sometimes don't work correctly with some upgrades. You could try both backends...
