Are you using the x86 or x64 version of Dolphin?

x64 version. I have tried 4.0-1192 with a few other games as well. With Luigi's Mansion, there is only audio. With Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, there is only a white screen, no audio. Both of these are with all default settings except the "Ignore Format Changes" option is unchecked.

hello! I am new to the Dolphin emulator. I was having the black screen issue, but turning off the "ignore format changes" options cleared it right up. However, the audio is really glitchy, so I I found this thread. I tried changing the DSP to LLe recompiler, and the issue was definitely lessened, but not resolved. Any idea what to try next?

Audio should be fine on HLE, if you're having issues with audio that's obviously something strange.

I am making a video series on video game emulation and how various videogame emulations compare to their actual hardware counterpart. At some point, I shall get to Magical Melody, and when I do, I will be sure to share it here, as it will contain footage from my emulator. Perhaps it will better help pinpoint my issue.

Oh, I think I know what you're talking about now. Yeah, there are framerate bugs that are better on LLE. Try limiting the framerate to audio.

I'm new to Dolphin, and I kept getting the black screen issue with Dolphin 3.5 on Mac OS X 10.9.4. I tried using 4.0, but now Dolphin just crashes every time I try to load it. Help please?

Try with recend dev builds instead: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 800/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

I've tried that, with both the most recent build for OS X, and 4.0-1340, which the wiki says is where the black screen issue stopped happening (for Windows, anyway)

Any other tips?

If it helps any, the game loads though the developer screens fine, but then the frame rate tanks (to 0-1 FPS) in the transition to the start menu, before it crashes, with the recent dev builds. In 4.0, the frame rate would tank, and the music would start playing very choppily, with the black screen issue again.

Have you tried "Ignore format changes" off under OpenGL as the wiki says?
