Technically you only need the 64 bit ones. Obviously, it would be kinda pointless if the 64 bit dlls would just redirect their calls to the 32 bit dlls (and even then, the runtime installer would have the 32 bit dlls included anyway).

I too am having this same problem. Please don't tell me to install the proper software; it is already installed. And please don't say my PC is shittily configured; it isn't. My PC is beautifully configured and extremely powerful. Dolphin 2.0 RC works perfectly, as well as anything other than Dolphin that is dependent on the same libraries, so I seriously doubt the issues lies anywhere other than within Dolphin itself.

Finally I got the problem, the guilty was xinput1_3.dll, Dolphin x64 insist in loading the x86 version of it, while the old Dolphin rc 2.0 x64 works perfect because it didn't include it as a declared dependency. What I did was putting the x64 version of xinput1_3.dll in the Dolphin x64 folder.
Thank everybody for the help, and you should put this tip in the starting guide or eliminating xinput1_3.dll from the declared dependencies of Dolphin x64; to avoid problems with some users or configurations.

Just like to say, as someone who's never used this emulator before (nintendo kids kinda creep me out tbh) I had the same error as OP described (after installing the recommended x86 vc++ packages which I already have and updating my dx which was already up to date) and wandered around the internet looking for answers.
My 3 minute long quest ended here. I installed VC++ 2010 x64 SP1 resdist, followed by 2008 x64 SP1 redist and then the error went away. I'm off to play Ikaruga now. Have a nice day. 05-15-2011, 05:39 AM

True, there's no reason why Windows would try loading a 32 bit library for a dependency of a 64 bit binary...
Maybe something wrong with your SxS setup, no idea 05-15-2011, 06:26 AM
Squall Leonhart, man I reinstalled DirectX and it didn't work, if there is a problem could be the DirectX installer, also I have another DirectX input x64 dependent programs and they all work fine, so that made me believe Dolphin was the problem.
So, if DirectX do a wrong installation is better let the users know what could be the problem and how to fix it, and no telling them to reinstall the entire system.
