The point of having 2 emus in one is that GC and Wii is so similar, basically they had a GC emu and then managed to play Wii with it with some modifications... I'm not a dev but I doubt there would be a benefit of separating them, but some features that are only used in some games can be disabled for speed games (like EFB access that is only needed for SMG)
Specs: intel i5 3570k @ 3.4GHz;
16Gb RAM; Raedon HD 7900;
Win8 64-Bit

As I understand the WII only have to load 2 files to run GC games , the "bc" that changes the clock speed from 729 MHz to 486 MHz(or 162 MHz I can't remember ). And the MIOS that is a slightly modified version of the IPL (BIOS of the Gamecube). So they basically (in the wii at least) they use the same instructions

But I don't know if in dolphin it works in that way
MB : MSI Z68A-GD80
CPU : Intel Core i7 2600k @ 3.4 GHz (stock clock)
Gfx : ATI Raedon HD 6850
Ram : 4 GB DDR3-1333
OS : Windows XP x86

I speak Spanish Big Grin ( And a little English )

The 162 mhz is the clock of the graphics processor.

Basically, the Wii is an overclocked gamecube with a flash drive, bluetooth module, and a poorly designed file system. There is no reason to make them seperate emulators, since they require the same 90-95% of code.

It's kind of like most Sega Master System emulators also support gamegear. They have a lot of similar hardware, so it makes sense to incorporate them into a singular emulator.

so the ps2 is just overlocked ps1 as the wii is overlocked gamecubeSmile

That could be said for the emulation of DS, GBA, and GBC. With each being an improvement over the previous generation. I wouldn't think the PS2 as an overclocked PS1 because it is so vastly different in architecture from other consoles. The same could be said for the PS3, as it is really radically different from PS2. This is why PCSX2 needs at least a dual-core processor to run games effectively. Sony was ahead of its time, but coding and programming proved to be extremely difficult on the system. PS3 also shares the same problems PS2 has in its early years. It will be several years before the PS3 and 360 can be emulated on PC. Dolphin still has to be improved upon and it takes time to make it a perfect emulator of GC and Wii.
