I was wondering if it's ok to try the software on my dvd drive and see if it will work, or if this will harm the drive. I'd like to dump ROMs I think it would be a cool thing to do, but I still need to be able to use my disc drive.

As I recall, you need a specific type of DVD drive to be able to read Wii discs (see here). It's much better just to dump them on a Wii with cleanrip. If you don't have a Wii, they're not very expensive at all--used Wiis go for around $60 from what I've seen. Either way, it's pretty much impossible that attempting to dump a GC disc will actually damage the disc drive. At worst, it just won't work (I think).

I tried the drive, didn't work my drive just ejects it says their isn't anything in it. Oh well worth a shot. Didn't harm the drive so If you'd like to try your own drive go ahead |
