Then your just plain lucky. It's well known that xp 64 bit edition never caught on very well with the development community compared to vista/7. I have a lot of programs and devices that don't work with it because it isn't supported by the developers. Your just lucky and don't happen to have any programs or devices that don't work with it. Edit: Damn you Daco you posted 2 seconds before me.

Really? I tested a lot of (random) consumer apps during those time of curiosity. Admitedly I didn't test lots of hardware, just what's on my computer and a printer, but they all worked just fine.
If I have to downgrade to XP I'd pick XP x64 over sp2 or sp3, for now Windows 7 is the best OS MS has created imo, you just need enough ram. 08-26-2010, 06:48 PM
But I suffered with XP 64 so much that I had to revert back to sp3.... but it don't bugged me on some occasion.
If you have solid luck, 64 XP is welcome for you....
(sighs)
It seems I will have to stick with laggy Win 7... I will have to choose between Skyward Sword or Donkey Kong Country Returns... or more RAM... Why the f* does my pc reserve 1gb memory...damn it I only wanted to play Wii games and record it, like admin89 , if I can't even do that it's epic fail...
adding even 1GB of RAM may help speed up your computer. You could probably easily get some from tigerdirect or newegg. If you just want to get the most out of what you currently have, I would suggest downloading advanced system care and game booster from iobit. Game booster ends a bunch of processes that most people don't use anyway so it can be used even when you're not playing a game.
Discaimer: I'm not affiliated with the stuff mentioned above. I just use it Also, according to this thing Windows 7 and Windows XP are nearly equal as far as media performance goes. Someone please correct me if I interpreted that incorrectly... (I didn't look at the overall score, I focused on 3D rendering and whatnot) 08-27-2010, 07:48 PM
As all stated earlier, 1 GB on Win 7 x64 is not a problem. But it will surely be lagful. An XP alongside any OS is very helpful. I myself have XP OS 3, other than I don't use it anymore.
But still, XP is the solution of your problem. 08-29-2010, 06:26 AM

Back from the grave and working on textures.

Still then, Windows allocate some of the memory to GPU for its purpose.... that may be ur problem, as well as mine...
