Its a 4c/8t processor, what PC game and or emulator uses more then 4 threads anyway? I think the core i5-2500k is the best gaming processor you can get atm, really the i7 is more for like 3d animation, high end video editing, etc more then gaming. Or maybe a for someone who does both. (o btw i remember seeing some where back in this thread about ivy bridge being socket 2011) Anyway, socket 2011 is a server or very high end workstation motherboard. Its 6/8/12 core processors and QUAD channel ram. I wouldnt even consider the upcoming socket 1356 much of a gaming socket either, as its a 4/6/8 core socket with triple channel ram, and i would see that as purely workstation. So i believe the socket 1155 ivy bridge processor is where gaming will be at. Getting socket 1356/2011 for gaming would be a really idiotic thing to do imo. 05-27-2011, 09:29 PM

My laptop has an i7 740qm http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=49024
1) Is it too weak to run DK country returns at 100% speed? 2) Will it be able to play most games at 100%? I also have 2x mobility radeon 5870m in crossfire, do I get any benifit from having powerful gpus? Thanks in advance. 05-29-2011, 06:07 PM
if the turboboost stays and doenst throotle cause of heat... it should be able to play DK country
dolphin can only use 1 gpu crossfire/sli is not supported

My cpu does not get that hot. While gaming pc games it peaks at about 65c. Does dolphin heat up the pc more than non emulated games? Thanks again. 05-29-2011, 07:30 PM
