Do you have write permission for the Documents Folder? Try running Dolphin in Admin mode.

Maybe you are refering to the .ISO folder in Dolphin's options : Options -> Config -> Paths ? In that case, if I add a new one, it just won't consider it, and it'll be removed as soon as I close the emulator. How much storage is left on your system. Can you place and delete files in the documents folder?

Right click on it -> Extract to dolphin-master-4.0-7840-x64\ It created a new folder on my desktop named "dolphin-master-4.0-7840-x64". If I open it, there is an other folder named "Dolphin-x64". And inside it, we can find the Dolphin.exe along with all the different required files. EDIT : (06-22-2016, 11:26 PM)Craftyawesome Wrote: How much storage is left on your system. In your documents do you have a Dolphin Emulator file? (no file extension) Delete it if it's there.
Try the latest dev build again. If that doesn't work manually create a Dolphin Emulator folder. 06-23-2016, 12:39 AM

No, as I mentioned before, there is absolutely nothing left on my PC about Dolphin. And the problem is, it refuses to recreate the appropriate folder. I've tried to use different verions too, even the latest build ends up with the exact same error message. I did try to manually create a Dolphin Emulator folder, still doesn't work. I even tried to play with the registry, following these steps. I consider that I have wasted enough time on this unsolvable mystery. I give up. I will try the System Restore Windows option just in case. If it doesn't work, I'll reformat... Thank you. 06-23-2016, 12:50 AM
System restore is probably a good idea. The Dolphin emulator file would be beside the folder btw. Maybe there is something in the registy that says the folders hae been created?

I am glad to tell you that the problem is now solved.
So, I've tried the System Restore Windows option... I chose a restore point taking me back 10 days earlier, just to make sure. And obviously, it didn't work. An error message popped up letting me know that the restore couldn't proceed to the next steps because my antivirus software was blocking it. So I looked up in its settings to disable it momentarily, and I noticed something horrifying. The antivirus had in its blocked applications the source of my problems : Dolphin.exe. I removed it, launched Dolphin, and a folder named "Dolphin Emulator" appeared in my documents ! It's finally working perfectly fine again. I have no idea why the antivirus suddenly considered Dolphin as a malware, but it caused me a lot of trouble. The problem was solved yesterday, so I wanted to let you guys know about it. But when I opened the forum, I received a warning saying : "I'm sorry, but you are banned. You may not post, read threads, or access the forum. Please contact your forum administrator should you have any questions." I was really confused and just couldn't understand why. I would like to tell to administrators that if they thought I was mocking them, I can assure you this was a serious problem for me. I didn't make up all of this, I am not crazy, it was real. I was the one who was the most concerned about it. Anyway, thank you all for your help. |
