I find it too depressing, like the background needs to be blue and while hovering over a link that should be blue too.

I can't understand you, AnyOldName3. The new theme is simply gorgeous

The theme is much better than the default theme and easier on the eyes.
If you have complaints, argument them so they can be addressed if needed. Just spend a little time on the forums and you'll get used to it. Having to click a button to get to the "View New Posts", "View Todays Post" isn't that hard, is it? 11-08-2012, 07:19 AM
I explained in the Random thread. Basically, a load of buttons are now harder to get to (view new/today's posts buttons are in options, as opposed to dedicated buttons), the box I'm supposed to type into is rather wide (it's more comfortable to read a slightly narrower box), the new black bars are very different to the white of most of the page (ultra high contrast GUIs are not comfortable to use, and it also means that a lot of the pale grey looks the exact same as white, and that your eyes are pulled away from the text you're trying to read), and finally, the page looks nothing like the Wii's GUI (although this doesn't actually make the site less usable, it's sensible to at least vaguely match the console that we're emulating). I'll probably find more grievances later, but these are the things I noticed first, and as such, are probably the things I use most regularly, so will have most problems if they're awkward.

I'll be trying to find a better solution for the View new/today's posts which seems to be used by a lot of people (I only read a few subforums so I don't use it personally, which is why it hasn't bothered me).
As far as I know the reply box size hasn't changed at all, it should be exactly the same as on the old forums. 11-08-2012, 07:23 AM

@Garteal: typing run C:/Program Files/Google/Google Chrome/chrome.exe isn't much harder than clicking a button on my taskbar, but that doesn't mean that it's the best way of doing things.
The reply box for me has always been ~1/4 of 1920 pixels wide. Now it goes right from the edge of the smileys box (where it always started) to the edge of the background, which is ~3/4 of 1920 pixels.

You've exaggerating things Oldname.
If typing "run C:/Program Files/Google/Google Chrome/chrome.exe" isn't much harder than simply clicking a button. What are two clicks then? It's fine where it is now. Just spend some time and you'll get used to it. Don't complain in the first five minutes you visit the forums. And the replybox has always been like liquid. 11-08-2012, 07:34 AM
I'm exaggerating because if I don't, I'll look like I'm being petty.
My main problem atm is that the blacks and dark greys are very dark, and the whites and light greys all look white because of this. I can get used to the rest, but there's a reason no other website or OS has such high contrast as default.

I really tried getting used to the black scheme (been using it exclusively for 2 days), but now going back to the old default theme still makes for a more pleasant experience for me. Obviously it's personal preference, so I'm glad that people have decided to keep the old default theme, for now anyway. What you're writing implies that there's a way to revert to the old theme. I cannot find this option.
