Heya guys, I have been using dolphin for years, and have never had this issue before.
So what happened tonight is I have been getting tired of my controller being used as M&K. This particularly was a problem since I, as everyone likely does, use the menu button as the start button for gamecube controllers. Well, the menu button was being treated as esc, which opens up the "are you sure you want to quit emulation" dialogue. I know I could've just changed the escape hotkey, but that doesn't change the fact that I have been getting tired of my controller messing with other stuff, namely my mouse if I'm propping up my controller on my stomach while I'm typing.
So, I do some research and find that steam has a setting that allows your controller to be used as desktop input. I had dolphin running as I turned the setting off, and dolphin immediately crashes (and updates because I told it to update on next close). Now, since then, I have been trying to open up dolphin, but it keeps crashing on input (windows error report coming later).
So far I've tried installing different versions of dolphin (namely the last few stable releases) to see if it was just a weird issue with the most recent release, i've tried turning the steam setting back on (and changing the menu button in it from esc to nothing to help alleviate my previous issue), and i've even tried opening dolphin with steam fully closed. Nothing is allowing dolphin to open again.
If it matters, my other actively running applications are opera gx, my file browser, discord, nordvpn (but vpn not turned on), razer synapse, satisfactory mod manager, poptracker, and the archipelago client.
attatched is the windows event viewer error and information log(s). I may be good with computers, but I'm not "read into error logs of app crashes" good.
If anyone is able to help me, I would really appreciate it <3
