This is my current plan for the Gecko code format in the gameini files: (it might change, but it will probably be close to this) Code: [Gecko] They will probably be in the inifile section named "Gecko" or something similar. Codes start with a $ character. (same as the AR codes, +$ if enabled) "All Upgrades give... " is the name of the code. "hetoan2" is the name of the code creator. The code lines follow this and they can contain options, named mostly anything that doesn't use any of the special characters or hex digits. (none of [0-9A-Fa-f$+:#]) (Just stick with X,XX,YYYY,ZZZZ stuff) The : character starts an option list. In ":X 0 Powerup", X is the option, 0 is the currently set value (or default value, in hex), and Powerup is the option display name (it will be displayed in the GUI). Lines following this, starting with hex digits (0-9a-f) are choices for the option. (the hex value, 1 or more digits, to replace X (or w.e) in the code, followed by a space and the name of the option choice (to be displayed in the GUI)) Additional lists can be added after this with the : character again. Drop-down lists will be generated in the GUI from the lists. When you check the box to enable a code, a dialog will be shown with the options (if it has any). I also plan on supporting options with just a range of numbers from x to x as possible values (for codes where specifying every possible value would be silly). 07-27-2010, 02:12 PM

Didn't realize Gecko codes were still a WIP, was searching everywhere. Newb to Dolphin here. Congrats on the absolutely incredible emulator. Was trying to set up Brawl- or Brawl+, ripped my copy of Brawl, modified the required files, and got stuck on the Gecko code part. Just confirming that until you make the ini file change there is no way to type in Gecko codes? Because I can't seem to do it in the cheat manager unless I am missing something... Thanks again for all your work on such a fantastic emulator. 07-27-2010, 09:04 PM
it is released already, since 5930 dolphin supports gecko
not sure what WIP means, but ull find gecko codes tab next to AR codes my brawl codes were working thanks for billiard26 for his incredible fast work he released it just one or two days after announcement 07-28-2010, 04:08 AM

Ah, didn't realize it was already working. I was expecting to be able to add codes through the GUI, but adding the codes to the ini files definitely works!
Not all codes are accepted, and some that are accepted cause crashes. What would be the proper way to report not working codes? A forum here, issues on google code, or ? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction guys. And thanks again for everyone's work on this incredible emulator. 07-28-2010, 10:26 AM
There is no need to report non-working codes yet. Once it is nearly complete, we'll ask for issues to be raised.

with latest dolphin svn, some gecko codes work and some do not. it's a mixed bag.
like for example, the 'max zenny' code works but the 'inf hp player1' or 'p1 infinite special gauge' does not work in 'tatsunoko vs capcom ultimate all-stars.' another example is in 'metroid other m,' 'inf ammo' works but not 'inf health,' 'moon jump,' 'quick weapon charge,' 'weapon always charged,' or 'disable charge effects.' the wiird code downloader button actually missed the last line of code for 'moon jump' but even adding it in manually does not make it work. hopefully, the dolphin devs will iron out the issues preventing full gecko code support soon. 09-23-2010, 02:34 AM

What about adding codes to WAD based games, like Final Fantasy 4 the after years?
