controller mario galaxy 2 "IR problem"

using a logitech controller and my problem is that the IR pointer stays in the middle all the time and its always active
with mouse it stays where i leave it and it disapears if i dont use it

i want to play with the controller but this star is right in the middle of the screen all the time, messing up my view and its hard to aim when its always reseting to middle when i let go of the analog
