Cannot get any controllers to work with dolphin bar

Hi all,

New to this emulator, but pretty tech savy.

I first tried to connect two wiimotes that came with a refurbed Wii off Ebay.  They are knock offs, so I wasn't all that surprised they didn't work.

$100 later, I have two new authentic Wiimotes from Amazon.  I'm not too thrilled that I unsuspectingly received Euro models, but legit is legit, correct?

Anyways, these wiimotes will also not function at all in game, and I'm assuming they are not connecting to the dolphin bar.

All the reviews made it seem like these dolphin bars were simple and effective, but I'm not experiencing that at all.

I have the dolphin bar set to position 4.

I click the sync on the bar, and then the wiimote.  The wiimote stops flashing and goes solid blue almost instantly, where the bar takes considerably longer, but does eventually go solid blue as well.

Based on a few YT vids, clicking refresh at this point should activate the motor...it does not.  Nor can I do anything in any game once loaded in the emu.

But nothing shows in the controller list even though the wiimote appears synced:

Any advice for me while I fight the urge to smash things into smaller pieces?

Sorry, I just noticed there is an entire subforum for controllers. Can a mod move this one for me?

Edit: Tested the bar and controllers on a win10 box and everything works fine, but I cannot get Dolphin to recognize the wiimotes on win7.
